PB has been VERY quiet, I can only assume he's reading the accounts carefully before posting a length resume. Or he's in the pub.
I was in the pub hence why I was a bit quiet last night and this morning. They were released just before I went out so I've only had the briefest of looks. Both wages and player amortisation are a lot higher than I expected. I'd expected something like £200m in wages and £65m in amortisation.
The wage figure could be accounted for by Mancini's payoff plus those of his staff. That could be close to £30m but you'd normally show it as an extraordinary item. But I don't understand the amortisation one. My figure for that has been reasonably accurate the last two years and I'd adjusted it to take account of players who left and those who signed new contracts, as well as new signings. But yet it's £15m out, which equates to £75m of new signings.
