Another Guardiola Rumour - The Sun.

the sky italia rumour is so laughable like id love to know the source on that because the fact that anyone from italy would have the inside track on a catalan coach going to a german club is just so out there they shouldnt even be able to report it

the media in europe is such a joke and has no credibility i genuinely feel said for you all

edit:
and the one person who would know:

"About Guardiola and Bayern: it's categorically NOT TRUE that he's agreed with Bayern. Or with anybody yet" via @GuillemBalague

I know the team hate Bobby and he is shit at man mangement and all that stuff, but what I cannot get my head around is this bunch of mercenaries running themselves into the ground vs arse. Very strange.

A spent force? Blimey he's not 75! Got eons of time to prove himself at the top level again.

it isn't his age I'm talking about.

you wait and see...

(if anyone signs Pep up as a manager it'll not be a repeat of his former glories, that's for sure)

Admittedly I wouldn't expect him to replicate his trophy haul with Barcelona in the time he did it with any other team ever again, but then it was an exceptional achievement with the use of an exceptional player you may not see again for as long as Guardiola has a managerial career. Not replicating all his Barca years wouldn't be any great shame, though I bet he still has the odd double in him somewhere!

People criminally, and I do mean criminally underrate his achievements at Barcelona. They see the names on the team sheets and think a monkey could have taken over what he did and won more trophies than anyone on the planet, playing the best football and being outclassed by absolutely no-one, anywhere, ever (well, maybe the odd day half the team had flu or something, but ANY game they went into full strength they were favourites. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, home or away, anyone - That really is incredible). He's not an idiot, he's a bloody good coach.

If anything I wouldn't be worried about his tactical knowledge, or his 'man management', it would be his staying power. He mentioned a couple of times about how stressful managing Barca was, and it eventually saw him out of the job when Real were on the charge. Now I don't get the impression Mancini is particularly phased by anything like that, as he's so stubborn and resolute in his belief. Same goes for Ferguson, Wenger, possibly Mourinho - hardly stayed anywhere long enough to be sure. That's probably the main thing Pep has to show above all else. That he can come under immense pressure and come out the other side without having to take a 1 year sabbatical. He may yet turn out to be a bit of a pansy, and give credence to your idea that he is a spent force. Regardless, it's far too early IMO to be making such bold statements. He has his choice of top clubs, and he has them for a very good reason.

it would be far too early to be making such statements if it were conjecture.

there have been some very thoughtful comments from people on here about Guardiola in general; all I'm saying is that his managerial career (if he still is going to have one) is not going to be anything of the sort that it previously was.

I really hope he isn't anywhere near City primarily because we have a successful and driven, durable manager, and secondarily because Guardiola is a spent force.

whomever hires him - if indeed he does make a comeback, will not reap much by way of rewards.

It's very simple. If we don't win the league manchini will be gone and pep will be in. If we do he won't. Manchini got a bit lucky last season. Not do this season.

Of course I'd be unhappy if Bobby went even if we go on to defend the league title.

But just to play devil's advocate, if Guardiola really wants to manage in the EPL, wouldn't it be preferable he was at City than at the scum or Chelsea?

Hmmm, 14 posts, can't spell Mancini? My rag detecting nostrils are twitching. Apologies of course if you're not.....

Ideal situation. Mancini sees out his five year contract and we win numerous trophies with him; Guardiola goes to Bayern München this Summer and has a good few years with them...then when it's time for Mancini to move on to something new in his career, Guardiola comes to manage us in 2018 and manages us for a decade before going back to Barça until he retires.

Yep; 14 posts in a year and a half. It would raise suspicions.
