Another new Brexit thread

This will go on for years you’re right. However I think if we do leave with a soft Brexit that will be the best outcome to moving forward. I find that highly unlikely now though.

I don’t think remain voters will want to make the country even worse if we do leave though.

The best outcome would actually be the EU recognising the need to change direction and return to what it should be. That horse has sadly bolted and so you are quite right a soft Brexit is about the best bet for giving us any hope of building any kind of decent country to live in. As you say that seems to be less likely than ever and we will leave on Oct 31st without a deal or ultimately remain.

Regardless both sides of this argument have actually done more to give a platform for the extreme left and right which both have made the most of it. Sadly small minorities seem to get more exposure than those who are in the centre and thus have far more influence on outcomes than they should.

Yes I truly hope I am wrong and would be delighted if someone could educate me as to why I am mislead.

A soft Brexit is the best outcome to stop the social divisions but even then I think it’ll take us a while to move past this.

It’s really bitter.

No deal isn’t happening and we will definitely still be in now after Oct 31st but the rest of your post I agree with most of it.

I can't see this happening, but I think a way out of this shite would be to leave the EU, but remain in a customs union. We will have left the EU, so the referendum vote is seen through but in a way that doesn't send a wrecking ball through our economy. The referendum vote was 52-48, no where near enough for a mandate on a hard brexit. In short, no one will be happy, but that's the point. There is no happy outcome in this but I think that would be the best for the country in terms of keeping the number of pissed off people down to a minimum.

The Tories & some opposition will vote against.

Even as a borderline leaver I have grave reservations regarding Boris, thats putting it mildly....

Are you confident he cannot pull something off? Macron perhaps? This new law makes no difference at all if the EU fucks us off. Alternatively what happens if they say you can have an extension til 2050 take it or leave it? As they are entitled to do.

Brilliant timing by Bercow!

His replacement will have to be in before BJ’s New Fascist Party can influence it’s new MPs to choose a right wing nodding dog. With his majority gone the new one will be selected by the opposition!

Is this the same opposition that voted for Article 50 and stated many times they would inact the vote. But have now done a complete uturn and according to John Sweeney now want to remain. ?

I still think there's a slim chance Boris will come back with some kind of deal and that MPs will have a pretty stark choice to make. It rather depends on whether the EU think Boris would win a GE and take us out on a hard Brexit if he did. In which case, throwing him a bone would seem sensible. However, this is looking like an unlikely course of events from where we are now.

So putting that aside then, and assuming we go in to a November GE, the question then becomes, will the loss of Tory votes to the Brexit party and Tory Remain votes to the Libdems be lesser or greater than the loss of Labour Remain voters in the north, and Labour Remain voters who hate Corbyn, to the LibDems?

It really will be a case of who can lose the least. Perhaps marginally, Labour have less to lose (perhaps) but on the other hand, they are starting from well behind in the polls, and with far fewer seats. And the press will be full on anti-Corbyn mode. Personally I think Jesser is pretty fucked, and hopefully he'll lose his job on the back of a second referendum defeat. Whilst I thank him for his years of being a total tool and keeping the Tories in power, I also am not comfortable with having such a nutter as opposition leader, nor anywhere near a whiff of a chance of power. I'd far rather a Labour moderate at the helm, even if they were more electable.

The UK runs a “trade deficit” with the EU also being out of the EU will allow us to trade with the rest of the world on WTO something we are unable to do being in the EU , nobody knows the consequences of leaving yet all the fear mongering comes from the remoaners , why don't we hear the positives of leaving ? because the globalists dont want us to and are doing everything in their power (funded by Soros) to halt/delay and stop Brexit.....not following through with leaving will be the death of democracy , as they say be careful what you wish for
Every so often someone comes along and posts something so ridiculous and full of clichés that the only thing that is possible to do is laugh.
