So basically (with respect) you don't know that Boris has made any threats at all :-)

He is quite within his rights (IMHO) if there are a plethora of formal requests to change the deal and make it totally unrecongnisable to withdraw it... We need to see what happens in the vote before we can make any judgements
I use this thread to ask questions hence the ? ;)

really.... they are reviewing the amendments to the May deal that was well understood. As I said earlier they have enough experts in their individual teams to get this done... I agree that they are being challenged here but no more than anybody else in business...

If they are in doubt then they can oppose the deal... not ideal because given time they might choose to go with it.. but it's an option
With all due respect I'm not sure how you can be sure on that. Why are we working towards a self imposed deadline?

The wise course of action would be to seek a technical extension for this to be debated and do it properly, rather than trying to artificially pressure MPs to vote in favour of it due to time constraints.

How do you expect them to read the document, digest, raise any objections and vote on it in 24hrs? it's not like it's a massive complicated decision,no-one is going to trust boris after all his antics,it's got to be read and debated and water tight so he can't change anything later on
Google "Bite sized chunks" Karen,, we're talking about educated people here with access to the best constitutional experts and legal brains in the land.. not a bunch of kids on a Prince's Trust team-building day

It is a little rich to argue that they can't find the time to debate this... it is standard practice in business to work to deadlines... if you can't hit the deadline working normal hours then it's not rocket science.. you put another shift in...

They get a bloody good wage and therefore a little overtime is not going to kill them is it

There is no deadline.

Could you make it up Jeff?
I couldn't.

The Conservative and UNIONIST Party.

They don't care. I doubt they every have, really, It has been obvious for some time now that it is Brexit at any cost - why do you think they just want it 'done'? They think people are stupid, there are no benefits. But if there are it will be 50 years until the country will see any, the country voted to lose jobs. They are telling us this stuff on national TV yet people still buy it

I don't think the British people are stupid but I think this lot know how to play the game. They can do what they want - Labour are years away from winning a majority, it is not in the SNPs gift to call a 2nd Indy Ref and they will call the Lib Dems undemocratic for the next 10 years, which will be lapped up

Long and short. It make no odds what happens with Brexit, the Tory's are here to stay and they know it. There are enough ideologs, there are enough people who don't know enough, enough people who still agree with Brexit and enough not to matter that they will stay in power. On top of that, there are enough people for them and their mates at the Mail, Sun, Express etc. to blame if/when it does go tits up

Sit back and get used to it

Hypothetical. If there is no UK. i.e. if Scotland leaves and possibly NI too, what then is the purpose of the DUP, or the UUP for that matter.
They (DUP) can always do a merger with Renua and that Toibin fuckwit and campaign to time travel back to the 18th century I suppose.

So leave voters ... Boris’s deal. Is this what you voted for in the original referendum ?
.
Good point.
At the time of the referendum, if we had known then what we know now , of the 52% leavers probably about 40% would have still vote leave with 12% going over to Remain, resulting in a 60% to 40% Remain vote.
Current average of polls show 54% to 46% in favour of Remain, because 6 of the previous 12% who would have voted Remain at the time of the referendum now think we should honour the referendum result.
That is the tragedy of Brexit.
Still stiff upper lip and mustn't grumble.
The English way.

You tell me. You’re the one banging on about deadlines and working MPs through the night to meet it.
Funny guy.... I was trying to counter the argument that MPs don't have enough time to debate this... Corbyn said it himself today.. I've watched on and off all afternoon so why the fuss if there is no deadline
