I suggest you go back and read my posts and the direct quotes and see if you have the capacity to understand my point.

Spoiler: I wasn’t simply blaming Brexit for Norton’s demise.

Try not deflecting for once but I know that’s a pointless request.
I did ask you to clarify what you meant, and you didn't. You just said "read the article". I did, and still couldn't determine if you were blaming this on brexit or the concept of trading outside the EU after brexit, neither of which are responsible for Norton's demise.

Looks like Norton Motorcycles are going into administration.
That was the company the Brexit boys were using as an example early last year of how Brexit could be good for manufacturing if only the bosses in that sector would look at markets outside the EU like Norton were.

Norton's fate was sealed 8 years ago. It had nothing to do with them looking beyond the EU. They tried to build a new bike range and new factory with no money.

Well done. You’ve totally missed the point.

I read your posts and tbh he's got a point. I think as Brexit /remain views are so polarised that I suppose we'll all tend to view facts through the lens of our own viewpoint. Nothing wrong with bias actually as long as you are aware of it. I expect there may be a bit of bounce in the financial markets next week, amd while it's tempting to claim this as Brexit success it will probably just be a reaction to certainty which the markets love.

I already told you. He was lying.

The company was in the shit and used "brexit possibilities" to deflect from the fact Norton was deep in the shit and their gambles hadn't paid off.

Norton's strategy is not reflective of brexit for other companies in the future. Norton fucked up years beforehand, plain and simple. No post-brexit or remain future would have saved them. They had plans in place, they were working in theory, but they ran out of time with the tax man.

You cannot use Norton's example as an example for every British based company "struggling" in a post-EU future.

I wasn’t aware you had such expertise in the running of an automotive industry. I guess the CEO should have called you in to critique his business plan and saved himself a lot of trouble. How is your management consultancy business going?

Better than Norton's, apparently.

But that tax man came-a-knockin'

Certainty? What certainty?

Yep you’ve totally missed my point as has @Mazzarelli's Swiss Cheese.
Whether it’s through lack of comprehension or simply deflection I don’t know and don’t really care.
Good night.

save that one up. Just change the manufacturers name from Norton as applicable in the coming couple of years. It will be your comfort blanket of denial as post Brexit reality hits this country.

Maybe, maybe not.

But in the case of Norton Motorcycles, it doesn't apply here so it's wrong for remoaners to "use them" as an example that brexit will be a "disaster".

Oh dear. So that's two people who have "missed" the point you were making, huh.

Either you need to communicate your 'points' better or maybe, just maybe, it's not others who have the problem.
Nope. It was very clear. You Brexit boys don’t like to acknowledge hypocrisy from your own ranks so it’s always better to deflect.

Missed this earlier.

Unfortunately, the Trump admin — and sycophantic, power-drunk Republican Senate — very much does make a differende to the current system.

Depending on the outcome of the impeachment, a substantial difference, as he could be given a “blank check” mandate to do whatever he wants, with little to no oversight. And that’s not even factoring in ways he could do that (and has done that), anyway, regardless of the impeachment proceedings.

It’s a ****ed system in a lot of ways due to him being voted in.
Thats just a reflection of your view of Trump. Not consonant with US law.

Not yet.
Have a look in the Trump thread and you’ll see some very worried people.
Dont quite subscribe to some of the fears but was a bit surprised by what some think are possible.
There may be some worried , but threads on here are always surprising in the ignorance of so many, so I'll stick with my own judgement.
