Yes, I’m sure conflict with European fishing vessels is what you are gagging to see (so much for ‘Europeans are our best buddies and we just love Europe’), but it will end in tears, and more negotiations and then a deal, but one birthed in bad blood and rancor.

It‘s not like we haven’t seen this play a thousand times before.
They are rivals now and any sign of this next year and a Reaper launched Hellfire would be more appropriate

I have pointed out for years that there are some on this forum that would clearly have an active desire for there to be bad outcomes for the UK and their citizens - just so long as they get to feel that they have won an argument on a football forum

When posting that opinion I have received pelters - but it was of course right

As the end of the process draws near and they are not getting what they want - the masks start to slip
As we've already had someone confirming that they actually wish harm on the country, and plenty of others think we're some piddling no mark place with zero influence, this forum is just for shits and giggles mate.
The real world isn't on here that's for sure.

Do you know - Remainers bang on about Daily Mail readers

Yet I only ever see articles from the Mail and express posted from Remainers

Weird that
Not really. It avoids the idiots who mistrust anything in "the Guardian". It's the Private Eye stories you really need.

57 so far, yet we were told these things take years, it's a good job we don't
use Bluemoon for instructions on how to do it.
Expecting comments denigrating those other countries in an attempt to devalue the trade deals to make the UK look inferior.

Honestly, i'll be very surprised if nobody goes "tch, 'Vietnam'? 'Singapore'? Hardly something to cheer over..."

It’s fucking disgusting what this country has become. One of the major points of the EU in the first place was to bring European countries closer together in the time following WW2 so that we’d never see conflict between our nations again (we haven’t). Now we’re ripping that apart and waking up to headlines about sending in gunboats. Shameful.

What do you think any country would do if another decided to poach on its territory? Many on here hate and despise Britain, and are gleefully hoping for harm to befall it.

I do wonder if the Mail actually have a readership, or if they just make money off the clicks from the permanently outrage seeking things to be angry and offended about, then linking /posting on other sites so ad/click revenue comes in like a sort of pyramid / chain letter?
If you strip this 'news' down to the detail the navy are just assisting the coast guard and civil authorities - same as the MoD would do if there were a flood / fire strike etc.
Correct.

I meant walk away from the talks, not drag the UK into the middle of the Atlantic.

The remain argument, is an argument for more capitalism at the expense of the working class. That is an OK argument to make if you are pro-capitalist and love free markets, but the remain side is in effect only arguing for the status quo. If the remain side had made an argument for integration and federalisation, an elected President, an EU army, an EU wide welfare system, an EU wide tax system and an EU wide Health service free at the point of use for all. Then maybe my head would have been turned, because it would have offered a chance for a Democratic Socialist Europe based around EU wide political parties, such as Labour joining with Bloco De Esquerda and other Leftist EU parties to push for a Socialist EU.

Instead a vote for remain would leave you under the auspices of Capitalism and RW neo-liberal orthodoxy. I can not and could not support that, it is against my principles.

At last someone gets it unfortunately their immediate and subsequent concerns will always be GDP. It's all about the green with most remainers. Not heard one champion a federal Europe even though they like the EU.

You mean deals already negotiated, that we rolled over with bits missing here and there and extra bits where we had to sweeten the pot?

Curious, are these deals a good thing or not because I get mixed messages, like ‘A deal with Vietnam, hurrah! It protects a few hundred million‘s worth of trade!’ vs ‘No deal with Europe! Hurrah! We will prosper mightily!’

You can appreciate my slight puzzlement.
I mean exactly what I said, you and many others have said it would be years before any deals at all would be done, which like every other forecast so far has been complete and utter bollocks. More are in the pipeline.
So 'Rolling over' is not so hard, amending this and that has been achieved, and
yet more outrageous predictions get trashed once again. The places where these deals have been struck clearly don't believe the UK is some inconsequential backwater. I can understand your frustration at this, as you want the country to go down the shitter, but plenty others are quite chuffed with it.

You say that, but people under 50, the younger generations, voted to remain by a landslide. By in large it was the older people that tipped the vote and they’re going to be retired or no longer with us while those younger generations have to work through it. I guess what I’m saying is that it’s kinda weird to celebrate being free of the EU for generations when those upcoming generations wanted to remain.

You do know young people age?

To be fair, it’s a lot easier preventing fishing from happening than preventing someone else stopping you fishing. The UK tried the latter in the 70s, this time we’ll be Iceland.
Steady on mate we can't go upsetting the French.
They stop migrants , flog us quite a bit of electricity and we have to rely on them to keep their channel ports open in the event of blockades.
Know wot I mean?

Thing is, they don't know that the Mail is a pro EU publication, has been for a few years now, since the change of editor. So they're ranting and raving at one of their own, but if it makes for jolly banter, let's not stop it.

I've found that the people most likely to read the Daily Mail, are the ones who hate the paper, read the headlines, repeat them online and to others all the while asking "OMG have you READ the Daily Fail racist headline today!?"

Erm, no? Why, have you? And why are you giving them free publicity?

I read it, well some of it, now and again, but many of the Europhiles on here must never have their fucking noses out of it.
