Not especially, I think a lot will hinge on the equivalency discussions with the EU next year. EU regulators were demanding more information from City institutions before even sitting down to discuss equivalency and market access to Europe.
Like everyone else, UK businesses will be jumping through administrative hoops in order to get the market access they need. FT running with a Seafood business that now has to pay £95 per consignment as well the additional paperwork. Replicate that up and down the country and you realise we are still ‘paying’ for Single Market access, it’s just that the payment now falls on individual businesses rather than the Govt.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch.
