Another new Brexit thread

Just in case anyone was doubting that the growing calls for an extension is entirely Remainer driven and intended for the EU's benefit - along comes that call for an extension from someone that should remove any doubt.

The desire for an extension is to provide the EU the opportunity to play their repetitive game of replacing the light at the end of the tunnel - with more tunnel.

For UK Remainers the hope is fairly transparent. They are dismayed that a government committed to Brexit will have 4 years to go after we have left and then by the time of the next GE the departure from the EU will have become recognised to have been a good thing - at least certainly not the series of cataclysms that the Remainers have prophesised/promised.

What they are really hoping for, IMO, is that the departure date can be extended by an initial 2 years - that will allow a further campaign to be undertaken to lead to further extensions. Hopefully, in their minds, we will still be in the EU by the time of the next GE and that could bring them another chance to stop Brexit altogether.

I expect that some of the arch-Remainers, whilst recognising that the pandemic is a tragic event, see the silver lining as being the opportunity to eat away a good chunk of the 4 years until the next GE

As I say, transparent - but such a tactic is the well-established MO of the EU - and the government need the resolve to recognise it for what it is and ignore it.

So now you think Remainers really think Brexit will turn out to be a good thing (in four years rather than the fifty you previously gave it to pay off) and see the pandemic as a silver lining.

You really have become addicted to unicorns. You want to bat on now because (the "inconvenient truth IMO") the economic damage of the pandemic will disguise the damage of Brexit.

In more predictable news given the state of the morons in charge, our goal of 50,000 custom agents is looking problematic along with the zillion other things that are looking problematic. And all this in a week when we hit the highest death rate per capita in the world from the pandemic and the brains of the operation is driving whilst blind. There is a metaphor somewhere in all of this.

I thought the giveaway to the likely trouble ahead, was when Automaton Patel announced her ridiculous 2 week quarantine rules. It applies to almost everyone except the Irish, seasonal agricultural workers and anyone driving a lorry. It does suggest that it might not be plain sailing from January after all....

Surely all this could be solved by getting rid of BJ and Cummings and extending the transition period long enough for the Govt to fall and a Starmer led labour govt to get in. It would then simply be a case of revoking and remaining? I'm surprised no one has thought of this.

That post should be preceded by a drumroll....

Well done - and looking at the poster that first 'liked' your post you have performed an excellent piece of sardonic wit - and been quickly rewarded by an early 'whoosh'

I did comment a while ago that I really admire your skills in this

Other posters I see continue the tactic of being devious and always deceiving by twisting the words people post to mean something other than was posted.....

and they wonder why people do not bother to engage - quite a sad habit really
