Do you really think Grieve and Clarke etc would help them out now? A number aren't standing again anyway - Clarkes long term local constituency agent felt obliged to piss all over his reputation in an interview - probably for fear of getting kicked out himself. They owe everything to their party but nothing to Johnson and Cummings - I can't see them lifting a finger to help that pair out - at the very best they might abstain from any vote. The squirming of Cummings which is then just demeaning Johnson in office is becoming more and more desperate as they see themselves being locked in with no way out.

I was thinking that the party kicked them out, and they clearly loathe Johnson and/or his approach. I don't see any grounds to help him in his mania.

Rascal you are a very unusual person, thank god. Perhaps if you are ever fortunate enough to move to a constituency with only two voters - you and someone else who cannot get to the polling station - you may get a MP elected who shares your views.

Until then, thank god, you shall remain an irrelevance. Enjoy being "special".

EDIT: You were happy to pay 33% tax, instead of it being reduce to 25%?

That must have given you quite an income boost, since you were quite capable of managing with the 33%. Presumably you put the extra money into savings, which get invested by the banks or wherever you put it, into the privatised companies we discussed. Or maybe you drove around Manchester dishing out fivers, Balotelli style?

Smile you miserable git :))

It gave me a few extra beer tokens for City away matches. Priorities you see.

And I am realistic to know my views are not mainstream, but they are mine nonetheless and seeing as though I have been a Socialist since I was old enough to read I can dream if I want and laugh at the Tories stupidity when I want. You might not believe this, but in all honesty I have tried really hard to understand the Conservative mentality, I have read stuff from Hayek to Scruton to Clark, I am reasonably well educated and open minded as I was always taught to question my own beliefs and justify them as my own. As much as I have tried to understand Conservatism the more I try the more I don't get it. It is an alien process and counter to humanity in my eyes as we have thrived through co-operation and society has been man's great achievement, I don't understand why the individualist approach is followed by people, as why would you want to be alone without the support of your fellow man. We have always worked better when we have harnessed all in society and given that I feel that way I have always been in favour of equality of opportunity for everyone. Conservatism does not give equality of opportunity, it encourages individualism, it venerates elites and those with wealth and puts people who are there by accident of birth on pedestals.

See I don't care about money, I am not materialistic, there is nothing I want or desire, all I want is my health and to have the time to enjoy my short stay on the planet. I don't want to be at the mercy of an owner of capital who uses my surplus value to enrich himself, I want to be free to follow my instincts and give to society as its society that I owe so much to. I am happiest when I do things like I did today where I represented Innovation Health Manchester as a volunteer at a co-production network event. I saw a theatre company made up from people who suffer from safeguarding issues do a magnificent performance of a short play surrounding safeguarding. I get that, I want to help my fellow man and woman be the best they can be and enjoy their life irrespective of wealth, power or fortune. The joy these people got from there performance made my day, it was society at its best, caring for those who are vulnerable and giving them chances to be whatever they can be. I don't think conservatism does that, it cut their funding, it drove them out of their homes, but they carried on and today showed me a ray of light as to what people can do, given a little bit of help.

I am not a molly coddler, I am not a social justice warrior, I am not any of those things, I just want a fair and honest society where people take care of each other and look out for those who are most in need and I am sorry mate, the Tories just do not do that.

Well i think it can work as a form of "added resistance to rapid change" atleast when it allows some gradual change as it often does in western social democracy's. Thing is that a number of revolutions in the past have shown quite bloody even if there were valid underlying reasons. The french revolution had valid reason to it, but questionable "execution" i'd say.

Realisticly speaking youre modern day conservative is not the conservative of a century back. The status quo that conservatives typicly espouse changes to include various progressive and popular programs proposed or implemented by the opposition.

I don't think it's illogical as an expresion of the fear that many in society have for uncertainty and rapid change. Otoh, there are also those who'd "turn back the clock" and thats another matter. Just my 5 cets though, and i'm not a conservative.

Imagine if Johnson is forced to go to the EU and ask for an extension, and they said no.

Haha, now that would be funny as fuck.
I read today that by law he has to ask for an extension until end of Jan but if the EU suggest another date, he must accept it unless MPs vote against the date.

What if the EU say 2050 and the MPs don't vote against it?

Love this post. are you really saying though that nothing but a left wing labour government could deliver what you describe. Individuals are free to invest their time (and wealth) into society whenever they want. Any government, irrespective of its credos, should be looking after those that are most in need of care and creating opportunity for every individual, irrespective of their circumstances. The fact that out austerity Tory Government have done what they have done does not mean that capitalism is wrong.

Ffs it will be strictly limited, then if we have enough fucking morons to vote in another bunch of ultra right wing cunts, they can just overturn it after the election.

Hopefully the country will come to its senses instead.

We can leave without a deal whenever we like, most rational people don’t want to.

Wow if true.

Probably about time for another civil war tbh.

I'm joking for those without a sense of humour.

As a country it would serve us right tbh.

I have long thought they will kick us out. They have actually spent time preparing for No Deal - they are as best equipped as they can be - they are doubtless fucked off with what is happening in the UK - whilst Johnson bangs on about "keeping No Deal on the table " as a negotiating tool they could well think just fuck us off is their ace up the sleeve then deal with us when we have to crawl back looking for a trade deal.

That point will come, but I'll be surprised if we have reached it now.

It will come if we don't sort something though, for sure.
