So much anger at the news that a deal is now looking far more likely.

You would think its an outcome some never wanted to see despite 3 years of them going on about no deal brexit.

Strange.

What deal and when will we know the terms?

If a deal happens that leaves us better off then than we are now by the 31st October, fair play.

I will never comment on Blue Moons politics section ever again

Good point. Which ironically gives us the chance to take more control of the situation when you put it like that. You know mate - perhaps you should be nominated to sell that one to the Leave voters, while at the same time stating that meeting deadlines is ceding control to the EU. I reckon it would go down well in general ;)

The idea that we put a time limit on ourselves is/was fucking absurd. Particularly as there was no agreed negotiating position

Zero chance of a deal that will satisfy the ERG types and the moderate leavers. BoJo knows this so he has set up a sham negotation that doesnt even involve a solid proposition. Just a bunch of incompatble ideas that the EU will reject. Then the blame game starts again.

At the same time he is trying to silence the EU by telling them not to keep proposals secret https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/sep/20/fresh-brexit-talks-row-uk-eu-proposals-secret

Like there were any proposals in the first place, its an absolute disgrace what is going on total shit shower. I am now beginning to wish that May was still in power at least she had honesty and decency, genuinally made an effort to come up with solution. The constant lies and bullshit are really wearing thin and watching that **** telling how great things are going to be because they are not. The sad thing is that they were right when they said that Johnson will destroy the tory party lets just hope that the courts and parliament don't let him take the country with it.

Merkel's "blistering" 30 day deadline for Del Fuffel to produce the UK alternative proposals for the Backstop expired today.
Did he come up with the goods?

Update - the UK came up with some concepts which do not amount to legally operational solutions at the moment and would have to be developed during the transition period.
So err that was it Jeff.

I'm getting the feeling that even some Leavers are beginning to see the value in revoking A50.

Well, I say "Leavers" but obviously now they are thinking about revoking, that makes them Remainers.

Welcome to the club!

;-)

We're going around in ever-decreasing circles, all because we went for A50 too soon and once May have fucked up the GE in 2017, without a chance of it gaining majority support in the HoC.

Now we just lurch from deadline to deadline but seem to be getting further away from a solution.

Stop the madness. Stop the uncertainty. Stop Brexit.

Revoke A50, have a General Election and if the new government/parliament wants to go for it again, but with an actual plan this time please, then good luck to them.

Basically there is no plan and never was but BoJo does not want that fact to get out.

So he has asked the EU to keep secret the fact that he has made no attempt at solving the problems. He wants the blame the EU narrative - but for that they must reject something and he can't even put a coherent plan in writting for it to be rejected. It will be a half arsed plan with zero credibility when it finally services.

Agree - I have thought for some time that the endless circling of the bowl will grow tiring. While many still want to enter the sewer the numbers wanting to climb out will eventually grow.

3 years now we been in this mess.

When do the much longer trade agreement negotiations begin? I think the British and Europeans have had enough on the W.A negotiations and are looking forward to finding a different rabbit hole to jump into. As long the EU agree to not impose tariffs on benzodiazepines during the transition period we can all hold out for the next 5 years.
