Also Johnson is the first politician I’ve seen who literally makes stuff up on a daily basis. All politicians stretch the truth to suit their position and usually have to resign if they get caught out blatantly lying. Johnson lies every day. That is dangerous. He’s no better than Trump.

Maybe Jezza should have resigned in 2016 maybe him and Johnson could both go and do us all a favour.

What's really dangerous is the number of people who've set aside their critical thinking to support Johnson because 'he wants what they want'.

I know this is a new development in the Brexit process and politics as a whole, I hope this doesn’t become the norm here on bluemoon.

I wouldn't come on here if it was (which I'm sure might not be a bad thing for everyone).

Yet again Johnson binds the opposition against him. Ex LibDem leader also says that around 80 Tory MPs were sitting stone faced through Johnson’s performance. At this rate we will have a new National Govt in place by next week.

I know can you imagine such a thing, I’ve heard there is a name for it tribalism or something. We need to keep it honest people.

Bluemoon politics thread the last bastion of truth and honesty. Makes ya proud.

I think it's because regardless of our views, end of the day we'd have all pissed ourselves laughing if Rochdale had won this evening (it's still good regardless), we know we have that in common, we're blues. These twats are managing to convince the public that if you're on their side, the other side are fucking evil, and they are trying to ruin your lives/freedoms/democracy and you're different. And 'these twats' applies more to the current tory government, but the left are doing it too. The state of a politics is a fucking disgrace (and social media is not helping with this).

It’s not good and it ain’t going away unfortunately. I think many of the public have embraced the situation and didn’t need convincing. We have evolved into a nation of slapped arses who only give a fuck about numero uno or groups that reflect their own views.

Thing is, it's not just us, it's happening everywhere. I've got a lot of friends in the US and it's the same shite there. Same in Germany, same in France, same in Greece. Everytime, social fucking media. People getting angry about things a complete no mark on twitter has said and spending hours trying to get one over them.

My main criticisms of Corbyn are in order-

1) not appreciating the scale nor acting stern enough when the antisemitism crisis first swept the party. It took too long for the leadership to get a grip but they did eventually

2) not coming out strongly for the side he really believed in during the 2016 referendum campaign

3) not hammering the Tories enough during their pitiful Brexit planning on Brexit itself, often focusing on other areas, which may be in line with point 2

Now when you add these things above and you add the pitiful list you’ve shared (overstating Labour’s popularity? Who gives a fuck seriously?),

it’s not even close to lying to the Queen, using her as a political pawn to ILLEGALLY suspend parliament during a political crisis, to force through a no deal that doesn’t have a mandate or support in the House, whilst he has no mandate and is leading a minority government.

Politicians are humans and they lie to get out of difficult situations, as we all do, it’s human nature. Corbyn’s record on lying is actually very small for someone leading one of the two biggest parties for 3 years. It’s impossible to be in front line politics for that length of time and get everything absolutely right.

Lying about something you said previously in the heat of the moment or over-egging your numbers in the polls is like breaking the speed limit by 2 MPH. Yes it’s wrong but it’s a mistake that can be made often and you quite rightly won’t be hung for it.

What Johnson has done is massacre an entire family in comparison... or tried to massacre our democracy.

I was replying to another posting stating liars should resign, I’m not arsed with deflections on the seriousness of lies and don’t give me the queen crap, oh no politicians lie to us all the time what makes the queen immune to such shit behaviour.

Oh fuck I didn’t notice who I was replying to. Haha got a grip of antisemitism kinell. Anyhow stop stalking me it’s weird. Back to the full stop for you.

You’re a middle aged man and when someone tries to have a grown up conversation with you this is your response?

What makes the Queen immune to that behaviour is the entire relationship the head of state has with parliament and our constitution. She cannot and won’t intervene in our politics, if she does her family is finished, she also knows it’s not moral to do so.

She does this to ensure democracy is really king in the UK.

With that in mind she will never say no to a Prime Minister but the Prime Minister should behave in a way that obliges such good will to ensure democracy is king.

A Prime Minister blatantly lying to the Queen, to get parliament shut down by using her, during a political crisis and doing so illegally, is absolutely unheard of and an utter disgrace to our democracy and institutions.

The bare faced lie that Brexit was about sovereignty by Johnson and that **** Cummings has turned full circle.

Whether you like it or not, or agree with them or not, the only voice we have is through our elected MP’s in that House. Well during the biggest crisis outside of war time Johnson tried to chuck them out. He’s not just chucking them out, he’s chucking you and I out.

We must look beyond Brexit at this and the precedent it could set.

I’m never one to mindlessly throw extreme terms at people but Johnson is behaving like a fascist. Hitler used the exact same tactics to shut parliament in the early 1930’s, in Germany. He manipulated a weak and tired Head of State for his own political will, illegally and attacked the courts as traitors, before he ended up taking over them.

I’m not saying he’s going to put a concentration camp in Cheshire but fuck me, isn’t this worrying people or at least pissing you off, because of the level of contempt shown by this utter ****?

If you vote in your by-election tomorrow and your candidate wins but the losers all say fuck that, we want someone else and your man isnt sitting in Westminster would you be ok with that?

Labour wins the next GE but everyone else says fuck that, Corbyn is what too dangerous and we refuse to accept him or a Labour government. You ok with that?

Im not interested in how the ref should have been run or the question asked etc because its all after the fact and all because you lost the vote, that is 100% clear. Everyone knew the rules of the vote and the question asked and had you won not a peep would have been heard.

The only way out of this madness as you put it is to respect the result and leave. By all means rejoin later if its shit but if you think you can ride roughshod over a vote that 17.4 million voted for and won you are pissed and certainly not in a position to ask me what form of democracy i am interested in.

You stated you were more wedded to democracy than wedded to Brexit, so I asked which form of democracy are you wedded to? I think that's reasonable.

Your response implies to me you are more wedded to Brexit than than you state.

How the referendum should have been run and the question asked should be of great concern to you as a believer in democracy. As it stands Parliament can still respect the result by negotiating a deal and putting that to the people. The majority voted to leave, here is what leave actually looks like, do you still want to go ahead? That is democracy in action.

I don't think your examples of a byelection and GE work here, someone more learned than me on the topic may well set me straight.

A more apt, if extreme example would be if the referendum was on the Death Penalty with a yes or no answer. Yes wins but parliament can't decide on what the death penalty should be implemented for. An extremist section of the Government in charge gains influence and pushes for death for all crimes committed (this scenario's version of a no deal).
If you had voted yes on the presumption of it being only introduced for 1st degree murder as that what was campaigned for, would you still respect the result and state you knew what you were voting for?

Stating people have won and lost (especially when you don't know what it is that has been won) adds nothing and shuts down the debate.

Actually that's a good question, what is it that has been won? What does winning look like to you? Do you think what winning looks like to you is achievable? and finally do you believe that all those who voted leave share the same opinion as you as to what winning looks like?

For a bit of fun; you state that everyone knew the rules of the referendum, so they knew it wasn't legally binding (yes MPs said they'd respect the result) and can't complain if parliament decides to just put Brexit in the bin ;-)

Sorry but if you think that there is anything that resembles democracy in this country you are utterly deluded. It is a basket case. An oversized banana republic heading to hell at a pace that would impress Usain Bolt.

There is not one party that is worth pissing on if on fire.

Concentration camp in Cheshire, ever been to fucking Crewe?
