I never hadn’t got it.

We must leave and we must do with a deal. Any other outcome is a disgrace.

I agree with that too. However, parliaments ineptitude over three years does not condone another step of ineptitude though of signing up to a deal just because it is exists. I have no issue with MPs accepting Johnsons deal. I have an issue with them accepting it without proper scrutiny or analysis of the consequences. If they do that, then that to me is the biggest dereliction of duty on their part.

The same applies to those disregarding the deal before that analysis too.

Hostility is fine until the insults get evened up, as a rule remainer echo chamber plays a little longer I find. Anyhow today was another frustrating day for anyone who believes in true democracy or just an end to this whole sorry saga.

Ah ‘true’ democracy like having a PM elected by members of a private club and unlike ‘fake’ democracy where everyone is asked their opinion again four years later.

Got it.

It’s brutal sometimes on here but it’s fun and people know the boundaries , there are some great posters on both sides .

I like his balls and sentiment as a leaver but cant help but feel its a red rag to a bull and will just make those hell bent on stopping brexit even more determined.

For the letter to fly he needs the EU to publicly say no extension will be given.

Christ what a fucking mess parliament was today again.

Moving on from here, it seems that only a second referendum is a way out of this mess but at the same time this second referendum could leave us with more problems than ever. The 2016 referendum had a straight choice, leave or remain. The result was Leave with a 51.9% vote, Remain scored 48.1%. The majority was 1,269,501 for the leavers. Despite this, Parliament has fought tooth and nail to get the nation out of their commitment to carry out the wishes of the majority. We can argue all day [or over three years] to find an agreement that is acceptable to Parliament, the EU and to the British electorate but that isn't going to happen and, if the 'second referendumers' get their way then there is going to be at least one other ballot, or more until we get the result that Parliament wants.

But what is to go on this ballot? Is it going to be another yes or no choice, or is it going to be a fudge by offering multiple options? I call it a fudge because, if the most talked about options are anything to go by then there will be three choices [1] Remain [2] Leave with a deal, or [3] Leave without a deal. This would be a dangerous ballot as the winning result would still need a majority vote of over 50% to make it viable. If one of these options was declared to be the 'winner' by scoring, say, 40% of the vote with the others totalling 30% each, then how could 40% be deemed a binding verdict when 60% voted against it whereas over 50% of the 2016 ballot had their wishes obstructed?

The more I look at it, the more it seems to resemble banana republics and their attitudes towards their electorates.
If you think that I'm afraid there is no way of moving on, a second referendum is just never going to happen.

I want a deal (and I think Johnson’s may eventually pass).

I do not want parliament making that decision based on principles rather than detail though. If they did, then there really is no point in them.
Why haven’t they busted a gut to understand the amendments in the time available then? Why did they need this stalling motion to buy more time to digest the detail or do they seriously think that if they keep moving the goalposts we’ll forget all about leaving?

Confirmed Johnson will send the letter will please one of the 27 put us out of our misery and tell us to get fucked . I'm afraid it's going to take one of them pesky Europeans to tell this parliament accept or revoke no chucking the grenade around it's your responsibility. Taking back control they said.....

It is simply unacceptable to ask for or expect a second ref because some didn't like the result of the first one and even more so when we have not left as per the first one.

parliament will not go for a second ref because they know full well the shit it will cause.

A second referendum or a people’s vote(you know our politicians have no shame when they actually have the gall to say that publicly) would be a disaster. I’m all for a no deal and would leave before match of the day starts but I’m probably the only one on here who is, but a deal is the fairest outcome for those who believe in democracy. Some of the smacked arses may go along with it as well just to get it done.

Obviously Northern Ireland is the elephant in the room and we can’t expect them to act in an adult manner when no other fucker is. Just get this through and whatever happens we will have to deal with it. There is no happy ending to this.

Bloody French burn sheep over fuck all, they get the chance to stick it to the Brits and they shit out.

The Govt has until now refused to publish The European Withdrawal Act by which MPs get to scrutinise and debate the legislation that gives the proposed Withdrawal Treaty legal force. It is now due to be published on Monday I believe.

All it takes is a few countries to say enough is enough, two deals negotiated and still you fuck about like children.

No, no extension that’s it. This deal or no deal.

A second referendum isn’t a realistic prospect, but in the unlikely event it did occur it would presumably be between Johnson’s deal and remain as no sensible observer wants a no deal scenario.

You should have seen the gammon march up Deansgate today if you really wanted a laugh.
not very charitable that, or wise You know brexits value victimhood above all else, can definitely give rawk a good game. The animosity level is higher than ever for some reason, the usual sneering condescension morphing into petulant spite, probably taking a lead from their white knight . I wouldn't mind, but that's when they've only lost the toss, imagine when the people's ref.......

so after all the different expectations of today, pass the deal, reject the deal, pass subject to referendum, revoke the thing, what did we get? rant rant rant then delay the thing.

Sadly after today I wouldn’t put anything past these fuckers (MP’s)
