Why haven’t they busted a gut to understand the amendments in the time available then? Why did they need this stalling motion to buy more time to digest the detail or do they seriously think that if they keep moving the goalposts we’ll forget all about leaving?

What time available? There was a four hour debate with no impact analysis, that was it.

In normal times, that would be seen as absolute madness for a standard domestic bill, let alone one as big as this.

Like I said, I think the majority are doing what you suggest and kicking it down the road. That doesn't negate from what a functioning parliament should be doing (which this hasn't been for three years!).

The US is our largest single country trading partner and the largest economy in the world.

So yeah it wouldn't benefit us at all.

Do you think Poland or the Eastern European countries undercut our wages?
They're still a smaller trading partner than the EU. Poland have EU working conditions, the UK have those with vetoes with regards to shite like zero hours contracts.

Oh dear. ‘Minister for the Union’. Classic Johnson. I should tweet this article to Arlene Foster for comment.

Scottish paywalls will always remain unbreached by me - I'm getting more and more convinced that the substantive motion will be lost next week and the EU will refuse another extension. Will the speaker be forever known as 'Bercow The Revoker' if he is installed to perform that act as the last resort of the HoC remain majority?

The other option is of course deregulation of the likes of the NHS, BT and your electricity grid with your taxpayer expected to pick up the loss making parts and USA companies given a free run at the profitable parts. By all means, go for it.

I think Johnson was hoping to get the bill rushed through without proper scrutiny, because the more people analyse it, the more they realise that it actually isn’t a very good deal at all. As mentioned before, I think common sense prevailed in Parliament today, thankfully. It’d be absolute madness to rush through a bill of this magnitude, regardless of how fed up the public are getting.

All it takes is a few countries to say enough is enough, two deals negotiated and still you fuck about like children.

No, no extension that’s it. This deal or no deal.

I said it the other day I wish they would. The drunk tried it but was let down pretty quick. I thought the EU played this well but they are as useless as us at this game.

Do you really think that explaining such a complicated document would help?
What is there to lose by doing it,maybe independent experts could do it,it wouldn't be totally unbiased but much less than mp's doing it,we have no idea what they are trying to force through, they asked the people the initial question, now we are 3 yrs on and we have a deal to vote on then let us do it

A second referendum isn’t a realistic prospect, but in the unlikely event it did occur it would presumably be between Johnson’s deal and remain as no sensible observer wants a no deal scenario.

Just needs an amendment first to push through votes for all 16 year olds which they could get done in the morning and then for the afternoon they could take away all votes from over 50's, especially those north of Watford.

Fuck it Ric, save the days effort and just revoke.

Corbyn has not even read it neither have most of the opposing MPs

Exactly. I get that people think MPs are solely doing it to stifle brexit (and a lot will be doing it for that). To pass a deal signed three days ago with no proper debate, analysis or scrutiny though is insane and if it happened at any other time, people would (rightly) be in uproar.

I think people are forgetting what parliament is there for, which I completely understand given their ineptitude over the past three years. The problem now is the blame will be put at the remain MPs doors for all of this (despite Letwin wanting the deal anyway). The real issue is this deal wasn't negotiated within enough time of the deadline to allow for that proper debate and scrutiny. You can get away with it sometimes if the government has a big enough majority. When they haven't though, then they're at least as much to blame as everyone else.

The leavers have not even started protesting yet.

It’s been moaning remaining soft twats . We need a people’s vote which is code for my vote is more important so please again.

“Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott was also filmed being jeered at by pro-Brexit demonstrators.”
