If Johnson goes, are Tory MPs released from the Omerta against saying Brexit is crap?

I think their pledge was to back Johnson's Brexit deal (i.e. the WA including the PD) and get Brexit done. But he expected that to include supporting No Deal if necessary. But if you can't support No Deal without breaching the PD that's a dilemma.

Of course, if the pledge is like Covid guidelines it's obviously flexible.

Stop doing this to yourself Vic it isn't healthy.

Have we actually signed any trade deals yet that are better than the ones we've already got? .... just asking for a friend

Fantastic post in which, like me, you advocate open borders across the globe.
There was a bloke in the pub advocating open borders for all. So before he finished his pint I went around to his house, broke in and made myself some supper and started watching his tv and using his WiFi. I even made love to his wife. When he got home he was furious. Turns out he is keen on borders after all.

We laughed about it on the way to Oldham Magistrates Court.

I wondered why the wife had a smile on her face the other week.

Of all the political topics, Brexit has been the most successful at doing what the top 1% of the 1% of society want. Divide people. When you really weigh it up, it’s not that important.

When you start to respect each other’s opinions, whether you are black, white, yellow, gay, lesbian, Muslim, Christian, left wing, right wing, centrist, green, atheist etc etc... these people lose. You then turn your attention to the things that really matter. They don’t want that.

Mud slinging over a decided topic is pointless. Whether you were a leaver or remainer, peace be with you fellow blues.

Only because you can't or won't address any if the current issues.

Try this.

It I get anything from your echo chamber other than variations of "we won" and "democracy" and "Frost" I'll be surprised.
I’d love to look Vic, but it’ll be a cold day in hell before I click on a Guardian link. In fact I’ve boycotted all areas of main stream media that have been negative to Manchester City. I’m guessing you are a remainer, so if it makes you happy and I find a decent counter argument in Woman’s Weekly, I’ll post a link.

Thanks for your input to the thread.

Try - this article instead...……..

Not MSM and certainly a more compelling argument to cancel Brexit than those Remainers on here have posted recently:

Sorry. Let me read that Guardian post and you can pick your own reaction.

A. Bloody hell Vic, I hadn’t looked at it that way before. I’ve changed my mind. (To be fair I’ve never seen this reaction so it’s the least likely).

B. Yeah but, no but.... you’re a Marxist paedophile! (This one is most common, you counter with... yeah, and you’re a right wing, nazi, goose stepping fascist! None of it’s true but that doesn’t matter).

C. If only I’d met you in March 2016! (Again, never seen this reaction).

Maybe the thread should be renamed, picking over the bleached bones thread. Still, if you’re enjoying it, where’s the harm.

So risks to our security are of no concern.

Or the side issue about how intrusive the system is that we want to be part of as if we were still in the EU.

I wouldn't say enjoying but (maybe for future reference) I'm just raising issues - fishing, agriculture, security - that were part of the supposed benefits of Brexit that are looking more like disbenefits.

Laughable, security is upmost and thankfully we have the best security and intelligence, there is a reason 5 eyes always comes first over a faux European security. When Merkle invited over 1 Million guest in to the EU she did it with minimal security checks unilaterally, but hey oh 5 years in Germany they then become free to have a passport and get the benefit of free movement, thank fuck not to here.

So you think there's a bit of a threat from new immigrants to Europe, while a security coalition with countries oceans away takes priority over a "faux" European system that the UK obviously uses and wants to continue using.

He has a point about the 5 eyes set up. It's a bit cold war centric, but the US are our main intelligence sharing partners. This relationship has actually been slightly damaged by the expanded EU Intel network now including former Soviet blok nations that the US isn't quite ready to share with yet. Ultimately trust and shared concerns will govern post brexit intelligence sharing between the UK and EU. The attempt to drag it into the pissing contest over trade and economics is laughable. I read your guardian article by the way and it just sounds like both sides are being dicks at present. I'm sure it will all calm down once we're out and the grown ups talk.

On an associated note - the extent of the damage to the UK's long-term interests by May/Robbins continues to surface - and it becomes increasingly clear that the PD needs to be recognised for the Trojan horse it was designed to be and largely scrapped.

Over years the EU sycophant's have increasingly been planning alignment of the UK's military under the command and control of the EU force - you know the EU army that Remainers denied was even a thing back in 2016.

The plans are still advancing and this could be something that the UK sleep walks into. The EU has not slowed down and assertive action to avoid being sucked in and tied to EU controls is urgently needed.

If we are to become an independent nation then the PD needs to be largely dumped - frankly the WA should be very carefully considered again to identify ways in which areas can be successfully repudiated or at least stymied.

May and Robbins have much to answer for - their determination to achieve a BRINO outcome has caused lasting damage through the WA and PD they were the architects of.

So essentially nothing promised to win the referendum or in a general election manifesto is worth holding to. I see. Substitute your own policy for one that there was never a majority for in the first place. This is "democracy"? Now if you would put this new unicorn WA to a referendum...

By BRINO I take it you mean we'd still be in a free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border.
