Interesting report from America, the Americans think Britain is more
influential than Germany and France combined.
Oh, and this was commissioned by Germans.

So some random poll asking average Americans which European countries are most influential gave the UK as the highest answer. I can see why that’s been excitedly reported In the Brexpress and why it’s impressed you.

And the German Marshall Fund that did the poll is only German in name. It’s a US organisation.

The majority of Americans dont own a passport so are hardly qualified to give expert views on European affairs.

All about comparisons

It is far better than any deal that involves continuing controls by the EU over the UK

I wonder what people make of the ending of the new/current round of negotiations early?
It’s No Deal.
Calling it an Australian type deal is just misleading bullshit.
Even you should know that.

The Germans did it, and it's not in just the Express is it?
So this country is viewed by Americans as more influential than Germany and France
combined, which, to all except anti Americans, which most of you are, is very good news
for us, and very bad news for the EU. So the skewed narrative that Britain, in the eyes
of Europhiles, is some helpless suckling that needs the embrace of Barnier and the like
to prosper, is not echoed by the most powerful country on earth.
No doubt polls can be wrong, but I can see why it's upset you.

The German Marshall Fund did it. It’s an American think tank.
I’m not upset. I find it comical that some Brexiteers take comfort from what the American man in the street thinks. The same people that voted in Trump. If it makes you happy, who am I to argue.
