Well, stop talking about what was said, and talk about what is in the report, why it wasn't published, and why Johnson lied about it. Forget whether there was any influence on Brexit - you're right, it wouldn't be enough to swing the vote (there were darker and overt forces at work there) - but start asking why the government "did not want to know".

It's Brexit mate. If it's Brexit, covert foreign interference doesn't matter, nor does welcoming Trump's lies about first in the queue, nor does any of the lying about deals (before or since June 2016), nor does the government forecast about the damage of No Deal (or even a deal), nor does the reality of more custom costs than anything we'll save in contributions, nor does having to pay more for European trips (and not taking your French-speaking dogs to your gite), nor does the threat to food standards, nor does not being able to work in the EU for more than 90 days without a visa, nor does having no-one to serve you coffee in Pret (or your gran her meals in the care home), nor does having to pay to replicate licences for airlines, aircraft, medicines, satellites, etc etc

Whatever crap Brexit brings, including Russian Mafiosi (whatever that is in Russian), it's fine.

I like how you pretend to have no skin in this game.

One or two others who post on here claim the same yet only ever seek to pick holes in one side of the argument.

Not an issue of course but its best to be open imo.

Ive got skin on the game on this government, not on brexit. The only skin I’ve got on that is being utterly depressed we’re still having to talk about it.

And people are still using it to make disingenuous (or simply wrong) points about wider issues. Like i said earlier, people are still viewing everything still just within this prism and allowing it to influence more than it should.

You and a lot of people. Especially when any "bash the Government" debate is linked to brexit every single time, purely because the Conservatives have been the Government presiding over our withdrawal.

If relevant debates could be kept to the relevant topics, debates wouldn't descend in the way that they do. It would also help not to have people assume that supporting brexit means being supportive of the Conservative Government, either, considering how they're a pariah on here.

Exam questions for those that seek to deflect from the report:

Why have the allegations not been properly investigated? The report covers more than adequately the reasons they should be.
Why was the report held back for 9 months? Why did the PM lie constantly about it?

Ok. I'm not really that well versed in the methods of int collation, planning and direction of our int services or the way that analysis reports are fed from agencies up through the JIC/OCS Perm Secs Committee and cabinet up to the PM/Cabinet and Security Commission. However, my best guess is that although the threat assessment from Russia is entirely credible there may simply have been more pressing issues and 'bigger fish to fry'. I'd imagine Putin has enjoyed being left alone while we were concerned with the ME, home grown terror and the threat posed by China. If you actually get hold of the report and read it, you might notice large amounts of redacted material, and the reason for the delay may be within that, although there have been claims that there have been no further redaction since the initial limited release. All a guess on my part, but hope that will in some way count as having a 'bash'.

I can only speak for myself here but I've asked for concrete evidence of interference that led to voter fraud and have said in that instance i would want brexit put on hold immediately and a new vote called. I have also said that interference is interference and its no good moaning about just Russia when every country in the world had an opinion on brexit when asked and certain leaders of certain countries were actively asked to get involved and ask the British public to vote to remain.

That apparently isn't an issue though and its at that point i just switch off as its clear, the argument and faux outrage is disingenuous and it's just sour grapes yet again.

get rid of all influence and ban all political social media campaigning for me tomorrow, no issue at all.
