However, the English fishing quotas have been hived off at the rate of about 55%, the a Welsh is almost 100%, with the Scots at twice the catch of England having only 5% foreign owned. The idea that we can take these quotas back is fanciful and the fact the English fishermen have sold them, with no government intervention, is why the position is as it is. The French and the Scots actively discourage ’quota hopping’ whereas our being in thrall to the free market doesn’t. The government want more fish allocated to the U.K. in the quota but it’ll just mean that the current owners will buy more. They want more fish landed in Blighty but, as we export most of it, we will have to pay extra for landing fees, shipping costs and truck pollution. Its almost like they’ve no idea what they’re doing......

You could have paid every plucky british fisherman a £1m annual salary for the rest of their natural lives and it would have cost less than has been spent on not resolving post brexit fishing issues.

A fair bit. EU have pointed out where they are happy to compromise, UK have compromised over how the future deal will be governed. EU now waiting for UK to compromise on LPF to match their compromise.

UK want to talk about all the other issues where there is a lot of common ground and agreement. EU won’t talk until LPF and fish are sorted.

The negotiating rounds are pretty much a waste of time as the decisions are now political not technical and it all centres around LPF and State Aid. Basically it needs Johnson to make a decision and that won’t happen until the last minute.

Oh, and we are building lots of lorry parks, the Express has printed a list of essentials to stockpile, and the Scots are headed for the exit door.

Most of us want to discuss what’s going to happen after transition. You lot are still in full “gloat about the referendum result” mode but no one gives a shit about that anymore. It’s happened, we’re out and it’s what happens next that we could do with finding out.

They can't conceive how being part of it impacts there lives - they just assimilate what they are told i.e. that the EU is a gravy train for liberal elites in london and that wealthy londoners out of touch with the working class will be the only ones who will take a hit - and it will serve them right.

They seem to exult when there is some bad news for the UK - as if they see that as a 'win' for their side

They surf the internet and twitter looking for any scraps that can be presented as bad news due to Brexit

They are - almost all of them and despite their protestations to the opposite - simply unable to accept what has happened
