How situations change. Played poker, got a shit hand, still played for the pot but had to hand it in on the flop. River really fucked it up.

Back to ITV, and Morgan, what a farce.

Thanks - but, TBF,I can see that I am 60 pages behind

I was not looking forward to ploughing through all those - I dread to think just how many there are where some Remainers continue to post their lack of understanding of negotiations - but I like to respond to requests so will make the effort

Probably tomorrow when I have time to give the posts the time they 'deserve'
Hello mate.
Welcome back.
Time for you now to come clean and inform us the kind of deal you would find acceptable and the kind of deal you would not.
We know what the parameters are so it's not an open ended question.
Looking forward in advance to your reply.

And in other news the Pope admitted to being a Catholic and a bear was spotted shitting in the woods.

No doubt the usual suspects will be along anyway to blame Covid, electric cars and the general downturn in the market.

Yep.

NISSAN have been consistent in their message for the last 2 years. People who live near me and work there or in the supply chain have been telling me for years that this is the feedback they get at work - No Deal = game over.
Of course the resident motor industry experts on here have pooh poohed it for a similar period because they know more about the business than NISSAN itself and its employees do.

They've been saying it for even longer than that. I believe initially it was if we voted leave they'd be off, then it was if we did leave they'd be off, now it's if there isn't a deal they'll be off. So the good news is their stance has softened slightly!

Mate - I live @25 miles away from the plant - I know a dozen or more lads round here who's jobs depend on it being open - I don't think any of them expect it to last beyond 2021 - they all voted Leave because of all the immigrants here. The number of people in this town that were born outside the uk is 0.01%.

Cobblers. They held off saying anything like that during the referendum. They didn't even tell their employees.

Well somebody was certainly making it clear that all car manufacturers in the UK would shut or move abroad if we dared to vote leave - just another shattered promise like the emergency budget and house price crash - just another broken vote remain promise I suppose :-(

Just a gentle reminder that they were given a Yoooge bung (I've misspelled bribe again) by May and her government to remain.

They've had rather more than that.

That doesn't explain why Nissan would now prefer Sunderland to Barcelona.

Nearly a billion pounds in state aid might...

Still making shit up.

No-one said that.

What they did say seems bang on the button.

"Increasing costs, making our trading relationships uncertain and creating new barriers to our single biggest and most important market"

And Nissan (and other firms) sued Vote Leave for using their logos - part of the massive dishonesty involved in the Leave campaign.

I will refine what I said about Nissan not warning their employees but it wasn't exactly in "your jobs will go" language.

“Our preference as a business is, of course, that the UK stays within Europe; it makes the most sense for jobs, trade and costs. For us, a position of stability is more positive than a collection of unknowns.”

Quite right. Tbh I think Nissan were given a substantial bung to set up there in the first place by Thatcher to in some way stave off the social decimation caused by the closure of heavy industry in the 70s & 80'S
