I never said this. You have constructed a strawman. It is obvious political cynicism to jail migrants for driving boats as if they themselves are human traffickers. I don't think anybody would realistically argue the world in which we currently live is capable of supporting full open immigration.

That is population density. It isn't as easy as just using population per square KM, you have to allow for habitable areas of land, so a more complex tool is needed.

I don't think it is helpful to confuse asylum seekers and economic migrants, even the peak 4000 people in one month in boats during the summer were manageable. Controlling immigration would be better achieved by additional staff and resources at ports of entry rather than mad plans about wave machines or camps in far flung islands. If you think the UK is overpopulated then immigration is one factor, another one would be to deter population growth in the South East and push people towards other population centres.

what is being denigrated is the state of our defence capabilities because the last 10 years have seen them effectively defunded and hollowed out by this govt - how can a "great maritime nation" have just 4 of those vessels bearing in mind they are not intended to just go up and down the channel but have far more distant capabilities?

You said it makes them criminals. Just say you're against asylum seekers, even though fleeing wars we've caused or supplied arms to, or through our industry have made their land uninhabitable.
