Or..........

The opposite could be true - and I say this as someone that has no interest or intention of voting for them next time

The Tory party's worse outcome - from my POV - would be to see a BRINO outcome and/or continuing negotiations.

If this comes to an end now - either way - then they have 4 years to invest where they will to persuade the electorate that they are 'levelling up' etc and then they can point to a series of significant things that they have changed and how some of these would not have been possible without being free of EU state aid regulations.........

4 years is a long time - and the government can borrow a lot - what they cannot afford is more months lost just chatting shit and getting nowhere. Conversely - that is what the EU would love - they have wanted an extension throughout 2020 - and then they could just relax back to the same old positions. No - for the UK's benefit - the EU have needed to be in a position where the negotiations are going to end and no-deal could be an outcome

You seen the state of this with just the EU playing a bit of politics? No Deal is not a viable option.

I thought the whole point of negotiations was to do a deal - unless you never really wanted a deal. It seems you don't want a deal, because the EU has not moved ("not an inch" - IDS), but think that lack of movement somehow proves the efficacy of your mantra.

What movement exactly did you expect / do you expect? So far all I can see is that you supported a three / five year extension of fishing rights (movement by the UK) and I'm not sure where that idea has gone. The problem is not that I'm trying to twist your words - it's just that there are so many of them, and so few of them are about stuff that's specific, measurable, achievable, relevant or time limited.
You are really useless on this topic

And I am waiting to board a flight - so forgive me if I find the pint of Stella more interesting than replying to you in any detail

All bases covered in that mantra mate. EU moves - I was right. No deal because we exercised our 'viable walk-away option – and the political will to use it” - I was right, good.

Just in case you missed that: whatever happens. I was right, I foresaw it years ago.

Why cant you miserable remainers not think strategically for once!
It would make a welcome change

BTW- your recent move to merge with the pack is, whilst not surprising, disappointing

It actually makes it slightly more viable. As the nimble responce by EU countries to the pandemic ensures much reduced freight traffic at the ports, we can now cope with what little there is. That doesn't of course help the shop shelves, but does at a stroke take the heat out of imports/experts on Jan the 1st.

Yet here you are, on a football forum...

Which if course has not been proven to be true at all as both sides entered negotiations and despite some apparent foot stamping on both sides they remain i n negotiations and whatever deal is achieved will be as a result of continued negotiations. You really have to wonder about someone who feels so strong a need to score a point on a football forum.
Weak effort

It has been clear that the EU have moved positions as 2020 has progressed and they have been unable to secure an extension

That Remainers on a football forum cannot simply man up and accept that truth is not going to cause me any angst

Crack on in your denial

Bless the stalker

Genuinely, I could not give much of a fuck that some fellas need to bang on in denial - quite amusing to me

Bottom line is that those that hold my views are going to enter 2021 very satisfied with regards to the Brexit outcome

People like yourself - not so much - you will just whinge on in denial into the NY

That is your problem

Sure

I wonder, is this the low point, the perfect storm of the virus and brexit? Its the winter solstice so every day from now gets a little longer and a little brighter. Please god we will see improvements from here, maybe a deal can still be salvaged that protects from the worst disruption. The Oxford vaccine should be authorised any day and hopefully a massively accelerated rollout. I really cant remember feeling so low about the state of the nation. Someone say something positive. Anything.
Say something positive.....?

OK - we appear to be on the brink of achieving a genuine Brexit that in years to come will clearly be seen as a very good decision

I am not saying it is a breeze - not at all

But we need to get clear - hopefully the EU will agree to acceptable arrangements - if not we still need to take this once in a lifetime chance to get clear and - despite the understandable anxiousness - there is no point in further negotiations beyond this week

You're obviously rattled because you've started with the stalker insults again.

Pathetic.

Ask yourself why that is. What could have driven that I wonder.
You took the easier option?

Understandable - there is comfort in being part of a herd that agree with your views - and you can all act in concert to close down alternative views

All cool

Only the mods and forum administrators can shut down alternative views, you and all brexiteers are free to continue to post whatever you want.

Are you still on the runway?

Good point

And why delay ? If the EU intend to maximise impact - as is their right - why go through the pain now with Covid and again later with Brexit

Extensions help the EU and harm the UKs position
