New Customs barriers, more red tape, additional costs for industries, service sectors finding themselves excluded due to non tariff barriers, an internal customs border, introducing Capital controls in our own country, duplication of regulatory costs in chemicals, medicines, setting up an extensive lobbying office in Brussels to try and influence new laws and regs that will impact on us, the many committees, depts needed to make the new deal and trading procedures work, including the NI protocols - we have to implement the deal and the WA provisions, it doesn’t just happen by magic.

And this is just scratching the surface...

What was that thing you were looking for? Ah, yes, ‘a clean break’. Oh, dear. Never mind.
I suggest that the key difference between you and I are quite obvious at this point.

I am particularly content with how things have gone

How the fuck do you know what the majority wanted ?
How do you? You're not seriously suggesting that the majority of people in the Uk want this to drag on, are you?

I don't expect a remoaner/neverleaver to understand this.

SNP: "WE CANNOT LEAVE THE EU WITHOUT A DEAL!"

UK/EU agrees deal

SNP: "NOBODY VOTE FOR THE DEAL!"

"Cut out of the negotations"?
Their whole stance was that the UK shouldn't be leaving. What exactly were they upset about not inputting?
Would you rather lose 1-0 to the rags or 2-0?

I think a majority now understand that it will drag on and on, and (given the chance) a majority would simply pull the plug on it, rather than face never ending palaver.

Its not what they were promised .... theres no unicorns ,,, no sunny uplands .... nothing
What who were promised?

Who are you speaking on behalf of? Farage's ilk? Wasn't aware you cared so much about him.

The SNP didn't want to leave and cared nothing for any promises.

Farage will never be happy, his career is effectively over in the next 6 months.

People are tired of Brexit and just want to move on. The best he can hope for is to turn himself into a conservative radio commentator, that’s slightly to the right of the Tories.

Am I still disappointed about it all? Absolutely but life will go on and the country isnt going to go down the complete shitter, like no deal would have done.

Ultimately I think the country as a whole will be slightly worse off economically but I doubt the day to day lives of individuals will be significantly impacted, which I think could have happened.

In a few years the subject we’ll have forgotten about it and hopefully this god forsaken thread ;-)
In the long term - a deal like this (seems to be) - may be best to ensure that the UK remains 'out of the EU' for decades to come.

The only real chance of a successful re-join focus would have been if there was real inconvenience over the next 4 years

That is now not going to happen and there will be no successful groundswell to put the UK through a re-join campaign.

As the years go by the difficulties facing the EU as they (absolutely need to) force full integration will become obvious

The EU having significant difficulties is not what I want - but it is inevitable - and what I want is the UK free (as it can be) of the direct impacts.

I agree with that and I think Chippy Boy maybe (apologies if not), said a while back he wanted no deal, so that the fall out will be so bad the public will want to quickly rejoin.

If things are relatively normal for 95%+ of people then apathy will take over and more domestic issues will come to the forefront of political debate.

It is the imposition of capital controls in our own sovereign territory.

Do you not understand this?

What am I saying. Of course you don’t.
Oh I understand it perfectly well

You seem to feel that we should all rise up in some form of indignation - sorry to disappoint you
