The next Giovani Dos Santos
Are you saying that in a good or bad way Ntini? Dos Santos started off with a huge reputation at Barca, like most of their academy graduates do, then didn't really live up to the hype. But i thought he looked very impressive for Mexico. Sure, Dos Santos hasn't exactly become the next Messi, but he still got good ability, imo.

Assulin would be a gamble, but i think this would be a really nice signing for our squad if it happens. He's another versatile attacking player, has potential, wont have to be registered as one of the 25. Oh... and he's free. We can't lose really. Robinho, Ireland and Bellamy are probably leaving, so we could do with some extra back up to the likes of Silva and Johnson etc.

Dos Santos certainly is a talent but hasn't lived upto the hype.

I thought he was going to be the next Ronny, hasn't happened for him unfortunately.

Can't see the harm in signing Assulin on a free though.

Like Balotelli, another reason to sign him

People are forgetting under 21's only count if they have been trained for 3 years in either England or Wales so they would both count.

No - you are mistaken. Under 21's don't count.

SSN just said we are in talks to finalise a deal in the next 24 hours.
:D

Wonder if we'll send him on loan or use him in some of our games. He's under 21 so we don't have to use a 25-man spot on the roster .

Re: Gai Assulin

'He'll never go to city as he will want champions league football so will sign for spurs....oh wait...you mean he actually signed for city....he must have gone for the money then.....city ruining football again....what do you mean he was free....that's not what the papers said'.......

Just thought I would run through the monologue I will no doubt listen to at work when the story breaks....

Re: Gai Assulin

Already a full International, seems to have recovered from a bad injury, good pedigree from Barca's Academy, on a free, under 21 - I just cant see any downsides to this. It's a yes from me.

Re: Gai Assulin

Didn't see this thread! Had no idea we're being linked with him. Big yes from me, and on a free! He's hit a bit of a wall lately in terms of development but it's no reason to turn your back on him, the lads got some serious skill. His first touch and control is quite nice, as is his passing. If the coaches could work on him and under the eye of someone like Mancini the lad could be quite a steal.

-- Thu Aug 05, 2010 12:55 pm --

Didn't see this thread!
