Re: Gai Assulin

Blame the Spanish media for the "next Messi" thing.
It's not Assulin's fault.

And for god sakes people, his name is pronounced "Guy" like hmm... a guy.
So you could stop with silly jokes.

Gay-ass lol...
Didnt even thought of that before today

Re: Gai Assulin

Mail was quoted today saying that Assulin flew in today for medical at MCFC.
Date 1.10.10

Re: Gai Assulin

I hope he comes good. (oo er, mrs) I wanna hear songs about the gay assassin.

Re: Gai Assulin

If there's any chance he has a long term injury then I'm confident we will sign him. Somebody has to keep Santa Cruz happy in rehab!

Spanish report: Manchester City sign former Barcelona youngster Guy Assulin

Manchester City have reportedly signed former Barcelona starlet Guy Assulin .

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was one of the most highly rated youngsters at the Nou Camp but only made appearances for the first team this in pre-season friendlies and the Copa del Rey. He moved to Barcelona at the age of 12, and proved his abilities during the 2007/2008 season with Barcelona B, when he scored nine goals in 24 appearances.

However, with little prospect of first-team football this year, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola let Assulin leave this summer. Manchester City gave him a one-month trial at Eastlands and have now decided to sign Assulin, according to Spanish daily Sport.

Assulin is the youngest ever Israeli international (he made his debut for the national side at 16) and is certainly one for the future for Roberto Mancini. Sport points out that Assulin is expected to play for Manchester City ’s reserve team for now.

Done according to the mail....

Manchester City are reported to have clinched the signing of former Barcelona starlet Gai Assulin.

The 19-year-old Israel international - dubbed the ‘new Lionel Messi’ when he was coming through the ranks in Catalonia - is believed to be signing a four-year deal.

City were close to taking the midfielder in the summer but a knee injury delayed the deal.
Barcelona-based newspaper Sport reports that City are now satisfied with the youngster’s fitness and quality and will add him to their reserve squad.

Assulin underwent surgery on an injured knee last month. He visited Eastlands last week for a medical and was sent to a rehabilitation clinic to hasten his recovery. His Spanish citizenship means he will not need a work permit.

Assulin had been highly rated at the Nou Camp but saw chances diminish last season because of injury and the emergence of the likes of Pedro.

He was unable to reach agreement on a new contract and attracted wide interest once available on a free transfer.

That's coz wikipedia is open source and Assulin will be nowhere near Manchester until at least the latter part of next week.

Rest assured it will happen but it hasn't yet.

You know this how??

Don't get why no one else seems to want him. I know he has had injuries since his contract wth Barca expired but I don't get it.

Can anyone shed any light?
