Oh do gtfo you cringeworthy corporate twats.
They are taking more words and losing the meaning again, does my head in tbh.

It is a beer, it has inspired nowt but late night fights and liver trouble.

Well done to the suits btw, i just hate corporate talk.

Edit: whoever mentioned windhoek has the right idea, a fine beer that is.

Haha! I totally agree with you that it's cringeworthy, but in fairness, what are they supposed to write?

"Manchester City is pleased to announce Hansa beer as a new sponsor. No, we've never heard of it either! There are literally no similarities between the brands, but we need to start squeezing every last penny out of sponsorship that we can because UEFA will not allow Sheikh Mansour to invest his own money. So Hansa will pay us a couple of million and contractually we will force some of our players in to appearing in a couple of their adverts, and they can use our badge as well if they want. You'll never hear about this company again, but we just thought we'd let you know in case you thought we weren't doing any work."

funny, reading what real South African people think of this brand and this deal....

The fucking corporate tosh on this. Cringeworthy. The only surprise he hasn't given further flannel about "synergies".

“Hansa has a special relationship with South African City fans and has been part of their match-day experience in pubs and supporters clubs across the country for many years. Their brand vision to inspire people to achieve their dreams, make them the perfect fit for Manchester City, and we are looking forward to helping them to achieve this goal.”

And how on earth can we have a "South African Beer Partner"? What on earth does that mean? Do we even trade in South AFrica?

I

Do we really need to know or care who they are or what they do?
The name of the game these days is revenue. It's not cash, profit or debt it's revenue.
It's not our game. The game is a new one invented by our very worried competitors to slow us down and potentially stop us.
So do we actually need to give a fuck how we do it as long as we play by their rules and beat them at their own game? I couldn't care less who our 'South African Beer Partner' is - I will never give it a first thought, never mind a second one. As long as they cough up enough money and contribute to the ongoing success of MCFC then it's good on them for doing so. Success breeds success. However success has a price. That price is rampant commercialisation of our club, team & fan base. Get ready for an end of season tour that takes in South Africa.

Thanks mate but I really and honestly didn't need it pointing out that money into the club is a good thing rather than a bad thing. I'm just laughing at the corporate bullshit and interested in exactly what this deal is. It can't be worth more than a few quid to be honest, but every little bit helps I suppose,

Do you think anyone in Marketing believes in the jobs they do?

Doing the deals must be quite exciting but the statements justifying the ethos and brand are just cringeworthy. Companies spend huge sums on Brand awareness and training but surely very few people are ever motivated to do a good job because they believe in the ethics of the company they work for. It's there to make the owner a profit and that's it

Absolutely mate. It's all a big charade. I particularly laugh at company "mission statements", which are the biggest pile of disingenuous guff I've ever seen.

Companies exist to make a profit. Everything around that is a means to that end, and pretending otherwise is just one big game.

Can't say I've drunk it out there and I'm sure none of the wife's family do. Not that I care as it all counts towards the large anal dildo being lined up at FFP.

Not exactly true Dave to be fair.

I work for a huge global organisation (a very well known brand) with a £50 billion turnover that employs 300.000 world wide and it is a charitable foundation. A huge chunk of the profits they make (which is a lot) are given directly to charitable causes.
We still have huge amounts of corporate bullshit, mission statements, diversity days you name the corporate crap and we do it all at least twice over.
Its just the way it is. If we have to listen to a bit of corporate bullshit to pump up the revenues then so be it. Who actually listens and actually gives a fuck?

They give the money to charity because it's the done thing and they'd be hammered externally if they didn't. They call it their 'social responsibility' and will no doubt make these gifts public knowledge and get the right pr from them.

If they are a company of that size their sole accountability and sole drive is to provide a return to their shareholders. That's the truth and the only truth. The charity stuff is just a means to that end.

But I agree its a dull and pointless discussion and not worthy of a football forum.

I look forward to tasting the beer and being inspired to fulfill my dreams. #together
