Ante Coric

I don't see Suarez as outstanding but the fact he is now playing for Barca should be a warning to those on here who write our kids off at 18.
Denis is an outlier. Every other young players that left our club have shown that they just didn't have the quality to be in the first team.

Suarez hasn't got the quality to be in the first team. But he could do a job occasionally to keep players fresh. As could plenty who have left & plenty who are about to leave without getting a game in their City careers as it's now too late.

'Plenty who have left' - I'm curious who these are?

Maybe he would not have become that good if he had stayed. City would not have been able to offer him the same amount of playing time to develop in. It's a bit of a catch 22 with these young players.

I think you are absolutely spot on, & that barca etc have a much better system. which is beyond our control due to regulations etc, but then I also think we have had two managers who don't give a toss about anything but themselves, which has made it far far worse for any kids involved & i'm glad he pair of them have fucked off.

And now i have to make the effort to be up in the morning, to see the U19s & It's not convineint, to say the fucking least.

To clarify, I'm not saying he's an outstanding player, it's just in 3 out of the 4 or 5 matches I saw him play in he was outstanding.

In the first match I had to look him up in Google to double check if it was the same player. He was Silva-esque in his skill and technique and stood out in a decent Villareal side. Barca are no mugs so the fact they've signed him backs up the displays I saw last season.

As for Lopes, albeit everyone was raving about him I couldn't see what all the fuss was about tbh. I hope the talent most others saw in him comes to the fore and he realises his full potential, but based on what I saw of him I can only see an average career ahead. I hope he proves me completely wrong.........

It's exciting and scary at the same time. It's great to bring new blood into the side but it's a tad scary about a few that will inevitably slip through the net. We have so much talent right now and positions are becoming more and more crowded.

It depends on the system I'd say. At 22 Rakitic wasn't good enough to play for them. Same with Modric and Kroos at Real.

If Saurez keeps improving at the rate he is doing, who knows. I do know that he is very highly thought of in Spain.

Either way, squad player at Barca isn't too shabby haha.

Is this transfer looking likely? Don't know anything about him, does anyone know if he'll go straight in to the first team if we sign him or will it be a case of a year in the EDS or a loan move?

All I know is that he's turned down moves before and he's been diligent with his career. Everton and Liverpool were considered favorites and I suspect if he comes here it will be because Pep has convinced him that he sees an important future for him at our club. I'm not sure if it's this year or next but I'm pretty confident that EDS is out of the equation as well as a loan move. It would probably be similar to Gabriel in that he stays with his club another year or comes immediately. (I know very little and its some speculation on my part so somebody can easily correct me here if I'm wrong.)

He will only move if guaranteed first team action at least?
