The club must have an angle for him and Brattan otherwise these seem like some really strange transfers. Perhaps City, as in Manchester City, are trying to build a bigger brand in Australia, leading to a domino effect with Melbourne City, by buying these players? Who knows, maybe he might actually be good enough for us.

Looks a imminent signing lots of hype about this kid in Australia but cant see him anywhere near the 1st team reckon he will be loaned out

This. We either unearth an absolute gem of a player for next to nothing or we pay relatively little for a player, loan him out here and there and gain him exposure and then sell him on for a profit further down the line.

As an Aussie blue, it's been interesting to see these transfers.

At first I thought the Brattan signing was just a way for the club to buy a replacement for Aaron Mooy, who is Melbourne City's star player and will eventually leave, and keep them busy until required.

However now with this Caceres link I'm not so sure. I don't think Brattan played a single minute for Bolton, so not sure what is in it for the players...
