Anthony Taylor appointed ref for Chelsea

It's a shame that this fact has been lost, in all the furore.

It was as good as anything previously seen and against a defence/side lauded for its recent defensive solidity. There is going to be some pretty special matches at the Etihad over the next couple of years.

I agree and that's why i get annoyed that so many going off on one, about us being shit.
Although i must add i wasn't happy with Taylor's performance today. He loaded the gun
that we shot ourselves in the foot with.

Your opinion of Mr Taylor's performance is what? please Frank.

Sadly, by City losing it at the end, the spotlight will not be on Taylor.
Aye I agree with that, think you're spot on...unfortunately.

The BBC and SKY Facebook pages (which I obviously don't like or follow) started it half an hour after full time! I can't even bring myself to watch sky sports news or MOTD tonight cause I know this is all they'll be on about.

At the game is looked very poor. Would like to watch it back though. I am quietly confident this thread will be running for a few days yet so plenty of opportunity.
Take your time, you'll need plenty of it to find evidence that defends his performance.

The fa is corrupt. That is all.

Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts abolutely.

Has always been the case. The problems arise when you are on the wrong side of that corruption.
You can have all the overseers in the world but if they are not honest, then what.
What i'm trying to say, is the FA/Premier League investigate everything in football.
Who makes sure their ship is not hauling drugs ?

Sorry edit : BASTARDS !!!

I see it pretty much the same way. 80
Percent of the performance was spot on the way we dominated possession, created chances, overloaded in wide areas and movement in behind chelsea. It was a joy to watch.

The two negatives (performance wise) was our defending in one on one situations and the finishing. I also think Peps substitutions lost us a bit of momentum.

But personally I cannot wait to watch this teams over the next three years. The rotation of forward players, the artistry of Silva, KDB and all in a system which lets them flourish.

Exactly. I think a problems defensively are that we don't do enough to get in their faces early enough
and then it's too late and it's last ditch panic. Now i'm sure the manager doesn't advocate this.

I thought the 3 officials as a group were as poor as I can remember. Indecisive even on the ball going out of play or even raising the flag for throw ins.

There was a time where linesman used to flag for things. They seem to watch the referee now and wait to see what he thinks and retrospectively put a flag up.

Taylor made a lot of wrong decisions. Still do not follow how Chelsea did not get a man sent off and navas got a yellow card for nothing.

Strangely a severe lack of replays on that one.

Severe lack of replays!? How about none. Sky airbrushed it from history. After the already disgraceful none sending off of Luiz to then show a blatant penalty not given would have laid bare their agenda for this match for all to see.
