Judging by my Facebook, even before the pandemic, some of the thickest lads in my school quite liked the idea of being smarter than everyone else by believing whatever half baked conspiracy was doing the rounds. It's a funny psychology isn't it - never read a book in their lives but convinced they know how the world works.

Simple solutions for simple problems for simple people - works well.
But change any or both of the 1st two ‘Simple’s for ‘complex’ , and they’ll go looking for the 1st way , no matter how bollox it is.
