Antonio Cassano

20 million for a 28 year old? Who hasn't exactly set the world alight. Is he drunk? Or does every club owner think that City's owners like subsidizing other teams. On the other hand we did pay 24 million for a mediocre centre half...

Roma paid for Bari close to 30 million euros when they bought Cassano to their club when he was just 18 !! He's still just 27 that means he'd easilly play for atleast 5 years at he's best.

One thing i could never understand about Most football fans in general is that they think its better to have a 20-22 year old player in their team but in reallity how many 19-20 year old players have played in the same team for straight 7-10 years (very rare).

So does it really make any difference to have a 20 year old player or a 26-27 year old player on you're team? I'd prefer a 26-27 year old players over some 20-21 youngsters who still need 4-5 years to hit their maturity years in football anyday.

The thing is, if Cassano plays for City for, let's say, 3 years he'll be 30 going on 31. You won't have much resell value left compared to a player of 22 who'll be 25 when he leaves. Even though I don't think our owners are owners are to worried about this while we're still building a team I do think it's something that will come up in the future.

Don't know if he's injured or not but I'll try to catch Sampdoria's game against Atalanta tomorrow.

Thats exactly my point mate, clubs like city, madrid even my club Inter they have rich owners they don't need to re-sell they're players to make money back because they simply don't need to. Owners of These clubs wants results and trophies not refounds.

Experiense is probably the most important element for a winning team. Look at chelsea for example, they've been on the top of europe for the past 4-5 years now and the majority of their players were 26-27 year olds when they hit their peak years.

So whats the point of having a team full of 20-21 year old players that won't win anything for 5-6 years. By then half of those players would be gone to other clubs just like whats happening with arsenal.

Managers in general prefer 26-28 year old players were football fans prefer 20-21 year olds thats how it is IMO.

does it matter about not getting any money back wats the point in being the richest club in the world if we not willing to lose abit i think this cassano is the missing link

ROME, January 30 - Great market news late on Saturday. Antonio Cassano, in rotta con Gigi Del Neri e con la Sampdoria, sarebbe a un passo della Fiorentina, che ha la necessità di sostituire Adrian Mutu, trovato positivo all'antidoping. Antonio Cassano, en-route with Gigi Del Blacks and Sampdoria, is a step of Fiorentina, who need to replace Adrian Mutu, found positive all'antidoping. Il fuoriclasse barese andrebbe nel capoluogo toscano in prestito per questa seconda parte di stagione senza diritto di riscatto per i viola. The champion should be in the Tuscan capital Bari on loan for the second half of the season without right of redemption for the viola. Poi la prossima estate avrebbe tutto il tempo di discutere del suo futuro con la Samp. Then the next summer would have ample time to discuss his future with Samp.
