is anyone a fan? Its somtimes shunned because its animated but
a lot of it is really good.

Ive recently come across 'Elfen lied' which is the best series i have seen.
Its a tragedy/horror/psychological thriller. Definate 10/10.

I suggest to anyone who has'nt watched anime before to give this series a go.

Watched that Akira and Metropolis all good stuff to be honest. Bit of Ghost in the Shell but that tries to hard.

Akira and Metropolis are ok. My favorite is still Elfen Lied followed by Naruto
 
I watched death note, good concept and it's pretty good for the first 20 or so episodes, then trails off.
 
Anime is Pretty amazing tbh, my girlfriend and all my friends are into the whole anime/manga thing atm, they watch things like kiroshitsuji and so on. im currently watching Death note and kara no kyou kai.
Pretty epic animes IMO.
 
Best Anime ever. And has often been commented, perhaps the manliest film of all time.

it's almost all about the brutal violent animes here. have a look at some of these

vampire hunter d, bloodlust (not the first piece of shit)

ninja scroll
hellsing (alucard the ultimate anti hero)
claymore not too bad either

Yep love it.

Although to be honest I think Amazon is probably the best place to get your Manga.

Manga Fox is pretty good place to get the weekly Manga and Crunchy Roll for the Anime.

My personal favourites at the moment are 20th Century Boys, MPD Psycho, Naruto, Bleach, Hunter X Hunter, Kill La Kill, FLCL, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Sword Art Online, Desert Punk, Cyber City Oedo 808, Cowboy Beebop, Dragon Ball Z (Obvs).

I want to get in to One Piece but there seems to be so much of it so I might wait until Naruto has finished to start it.

I'm not a fan but am told that it genre contains some incredible stories.

Can you recommend a good series of something for me to try out?
 
Try a cartoon called Impel Down. Mad, mad, surreal and a bit sexy.
It's about a young guy who is (I think) wrongly imprisoned in the underwater equivalent of Alcatraz, replete with sadistic leotard-toting deputy governor vamp and themed prison gangs.
