Is that you on the right 101?;)

Not really but my american mate Chris is and he makes me watch it with him while we chat on skype.

Death Note is pretty damned sweet and so is afro samurai.
That is as far as my knowledge goes.

Black Lagoon is good.

Monster too.

Not seen Monster I shall check it out

Space Dandy on Netflix at the moment is really good by the guy that made Cowboy Beebop.

If you're really in to the artier manga, I've just finished reading Blame which is pretty immense.

Yep love it.

Although to be honest I think Amazon is probably the best place to get your Manga.

Manga Fox is pretty good place to get the weekly Manga and Crunchy Roll for the Anime.

My personal favourites at the moment are 20th Century Boys, MPD Psycho, Naruto, Bleach, Hunter X Hunter, Kill La Kill, FLCL, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Sword Art Online, Desert Punk, Cyber City Oedo 808, Cowboy Beebop, Dragon Ball Z (Obvs).

I want to get in to One Piece but there seems to be so much of it so I might wait until Naruto has finished to start it.
Thank you for a list I can get checking out myself.

As for Naruto; which one are you referring to? The young Naruto, or Shippuden series? My 9 year old niece got me into the younger one and I fucking LOVE it. Up to episode 199 of 220 and won't watch any of the Shippuden I've got ready to watch until I finish the kid's one.

I'm not a fan per se, more of an appreciator. Those of you more knowledgeable than me might tell me I'm wrong in saying this, but anime and manga have always struck as being styles/mediums rather than genres: you get sci-fi anime, fantasy anime, crime drama, horror, soap operas, etc. It's not all about androgynous protagonists and school girls with massive baps.

I've not seen a great deal but I loved Cowboy Bebop and the Street Fighter films. I guess Star Wars Clone Wars counts, too (the Genndy Tartakovsky version, not newer CGI one). I also have Akira on DVD but haven't got round to watching it yet.

I guess because I like sci-fi and westerns, I gravitate towards anime based on those themes. That's what I like about it - there's something for everyone, as long as people can get past their 'they're just cartoons' snobbery.

No worries mate.

I was referring to both Naruto AND Shippuden

I am so envious of your Niece because I would have loved to have grown up watching Naruto, I actually think there's more imagination and cool super powers throughout both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden than there is in the entire Marvel universe.
Both are excellent mate you did right watching the kids one first and even though Shippuden is darker and alot more intense , I still hark back to the Naruto Vs. Gara fight after the Chunin exams in Naruto. I think that was the moment it had me hooked.

I haven't really watched any series. I've got Cowboy Bebop on my hard drive, but haven't got round to it yet. But I love Satoshi Kon. It's amazing how many directors his work has influenced. Requiem for a Dream rips shots right out of his stuff. Millennium Actress is a masterpiece.

definitely the best anime I've ever seen alongside FullMetal Alchemist which is highly recommended for a first anime to watch.
