It doesn’t make you a better supporter just means you have more money and time than some others
I’d challenge that. If I had the money then I wouldn’t do it as I feel I’d miss out on too many other things in life. It can take up weekend after weekend. It doesn’t make you a better supporter just means you have more money and time than some others
This is the correct response to the thread imo.I’d challenge that. If I had the money then I wouldn’t do it as I feel I’d miss out on too many other things in life. It can take up weekend after weekend.
And if you didn’t have the money you wouldn’t be able to go every gameI’d challenge that. If I had the money then I wouldn’t do it as I feel I’d miss out on too many other things in life. It can take up weekend after weekend.

I used to hitch it to lots of aways when I was younger don’t see many people doing it now once you got to the ground you always knew someone to get home but that’s a different story, i do about 75% of all games and European aways a season but for me it’s not financial it’s more draining for days after coming home combination of my health now and getting olderIt doesn’t necessarily make you ‘better’ but it certainly makes you more committed.
Most of the people I know who go to the majority of aways aren’t particularly rich. They’re obviously not that poor either or they literally wouldn’t be able to afford it.
They just prioritise watching City over pretty much everything else. Both financially and time wise. Some people might find that a bit sad but that’s a different argument to how committed they are.
Leave an Istanbul cafe without paying, food & running combined, maybe even the swimming too if they catch you and chuck you in the Bosphours . ;)Fair play to everyone who does the lot.
I used to do most aways but got out of the habit after lockdown.
I do all home games, but so far this season I've only done Copenhagen away as I made a week of it as a holiday.
The other issues are that I've taken early retirement, so despite having loads of spare time I don't have the disposable income.
I've also taken up running & swimming so have to keep on top of my fitness and consider what I eat and drink more.
Intending to do Wembley & Instanbul (should we get there) but have at the back of my mind where I'll do my Parkruns around them, or what I'll have to do to compensate for missing them.
As you can see, my personal.priorities have changed a lot since 2020!
Even more respect and it was already high! The secret is don't have a wife I think!
