I like to watch 'The Old 'uns' play in the summer behind The Church Inn , Chadderton Park. Sink a few Guinness's, sat in the sun while the pub staff put on a BBQ.
I can think of worse ways to spend a summer's afternoon.

Not Crown Green, but I've got a set of 'traditional garden boules' which my family enjoy playing in the park. Less skill required than Crown Green, which suits my young family.

Used to be there myself when the Olds bowled there, great place when the suns out down there.
