Band of brothers, before i watched this series i thought American soldiers were all mouth and trousers but this true story shows they were brave courageous professional paratroopers.
The episode where they are under a three day German mortar barrage in the Ardenne forest is awesome

I suggest you read some of the books too then mate, I've read the book itself and one about some of the guys who arent mentioned so much in the series. Also a lot of the books from individuals themselves: Heffron and Guanere, Compton, Winters and Webster.

Comptons is paticulalrly good as he went on to achieve quite a bit in later life (Conviction of Sirhan Sirhan). Webster's though is by far the best as it was written not long after the War and he went to war with the intention of writing memoirs.

Watched all the second series so far and it's the best thing I've watched on TV.

Boardwalk Empire- fantastic.

This is England- would recommend all of them excellent performances by a brilliant young British cast.
