Ford - Focus 05-06 plate, Fusion 07-57, Fiesta (old shape) 07-57
Vauxall - Astra, Mariva, Corsa
Kia - Ceed (good car, brilliant warranty.)
The French thing is a good point, anything French that comes to us and we might retail normally there’s a spend up to £500-£700 repair bill.

Was hoping for a little bit more exciting! What do you think of A or B Class mercs. Im looking at it as a bit of a family car as the nipper is a year old. I wouldnt want a corsa but the astras are nice enough.
Robbo. said:The problem you have is the budget you want to spend will get you a car like a Merc, BMW or anything of that calibre a very high mileage and old car, out of warranty, high service costs etc. If it is a merc then make sure you read about that particular model, because Mercs are know to have a dickey gearbox, autos boxes are the way to go if you are looking at mercs, but to be honest working at Ford I know more about competitors cars like Vauxhall, Toyota, VW, etc than the higher end cars like Merc, BMW etc.

Mate seriously, be very carefull on what you buy. We have loads of cars coming in to us that are gash at that price now, all the good cars of that ilk have now been scraped thanks to the government. Value for money at the moment are ford mondeos, because they are booking very cheep. A guy came into the dealership yesterday and had a 52 plate 2.0 Ghia x 75k on it full history and booked at around £700.
