Anybody Been On A Cruise ?

Did a P&O cruise end of 2012. 9 nights from Sydney to Pacific Islands back to Sydney. Honestly..probably the best time of my life. 9 nights getting drunk and partying with my 2 best mates. Girls, sun and not a care in the world. Will definitely be doing another one sometime in the the next 18 months.
I thought cruises were full of old couples?

The only cruise I'd be interested in would be ones of those Antarctica or Greenland ones. But that's not quite the same thing.

I think the biggest thing that attracts folk now to Stamford park is the Canadian Geese, although the £4 million lottery grant to do up the area/park seems to have improved things......

The one I was on had a mixture of everyone. Uni students on holidays, people who had just finished high school, families, couples, old bastards etc. Got activities for all ages.

It's the people that do them that put me off as much as anything. Other than that the concept is one that I am not entirely inimical too, especially if it involves visiting a lot of interesting places in a short space of time.

Mum and dad did a Baltic Cruise early last autumn and loved it: Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm, Riga, St Petersburg and Hamburg in the space of a few days sounds pretty good fun if you're in good company.

On the flip side my dad took us all away on a cruise round the Red Sea about a decade ago - Egypt, Jordan during Christmas. It was ok, but I was a little bored at times tbh as there was little to do a lot of the time. The food was average and we all got a virus (which is quite common on cruises)

To me if it was full of like minded people around my age, involved a few hours visiting an interesting city other day, and good food and a piss up at night, I'd be set I reckon, at least every now and then.

I enjoyed visiting different places during the day. Didnt enjoy being stuck on the ship in the evening. It was like staying in a very nice hotel but not being able to venture out to different restaurants, bars etc.

We did one once, similar thing .... bit staid and dull onboard, but great way to travel and see places. The 'dressing' for dinner was a pain too.

Which is why next month we are off on our fourth one of these .... (and their final one)

4000 rock fans, 17 bands playing day and night in various bars, theatres and on deck. (And headline sets bu Skynyrd, both on board, and on the beach on a Carribean island ..... Amazing time .... And 'dressing for dinner' means you have to wear a t shirt and shorts at least ...

Did the Disney dream a few weeks back from Florida to the Bahamas.
Wasn't prepared for the amount of children at meal times.
Although Nassau and castaway cay beaches were amazing, watching the sunset on the balcony and the dramatic weather changes were breathtaking,I would next time do a more relaxing one where my kids weren't running around chasing Disney princesses all day!!!!!
