Did the Queen Mary 2 transatlantic a couple of years ago. I thought it might be a bit boring, as there are no stops, but surprisingly, it was the most relaxing week I've ever had.
You don't even have to miss a match, as they show so many live matches in the pub, which is the focal point of the ship.

We have been on about 20 cruises. The best holiday and value for money you can get.

Thinking about retiring at 55 in 4 years time... We're going to do a half world cruise then,,,, end up in Oz and spend some time down under

Ive alerted immigration
ha ha... Not sure I intended staying

I hate the idea of being cooped up with a load of old people who you can't get away from, whilst being on a vessel that is in perpetual motion. No thanks

As we've got older (we're mid 40s) we've actually done a lot of cruises:

Queen Mary 2 - around the West Indies - absolutely brilliant

Did one around the Canary Islands in winter - brilliant

Did a Nile Cruise - never again, it was like being in the Army again - up at 5 to breakfast and then around a sodding temple (seen one, seen them all)

We're doing a Rhine cruise next year with a cruise also booked for 2016 on a Tall Ship around the Med stopping off for the Monaco Grand Prix

They are bloody brilliant as far as I (and she must be obeyed) are concerned - and the craic is always good - you are bound to find someone you get on with - plus we also like the one night a cruise black tie dinner - just an excuse to get the old Mess Kit out. That's me and her btw

Something different everyday

When I hit 60 and decide that my life is officially over I might think about taking a cruise.
Next summer then?
Fully booked and paid for. Can't wait. We start out at Rhyl and take the steamer across the Baring Straits to San Fransisco and spend a week there doing the 'scene'...clubs, parks, white vest top shops etc etc before catching the Sandbanks chain ferry to the Isle of Man where we spend 4 days sitting on a bench saying "what a nice harbour" and then 3 weeks on a boat sloshing around in a swimming pool full of sick whilst eating my OWN FACE to keep the boredom at bay.

Hate to disappoint you, but the Sandbanks chain ferry only goes 500 yards to Shell Bay, near Swanage and nowhere near the Isle of Man.

You can say hello to 'arry whilst you are down there in Sandbanks, but don't mention wheeler dealing....
