If the 'no Hughes' crowd had an option what would it be: a) a flag in 2011 under Jose then nothing else for 20 years, or b) 5 flags under Hughes over the next 10 years.

How on earth have you reached either of those conclusions?

Jose would not be around for the long haul. Only a home grown coach is going to stick it out for the long haul, Wenger the only exception.

Sorry, but there is nothing at all to suggest that either we'd win 1 title and nothing else under Jose. Neither is there anything to suggest that we'll win 5 titles in the next 10 seasons under Hughes.

You can make any comparison look good if you invent stats.
