Anyone else see the Championship becoming the 'Premier League 2' soon?

With all the money in English football now, these bottom 5-6 clubs are putting in so much money, only for 3 of them to go down and possibly face doom/oblivion.

There isn't enough money being given to Championship clubs in its current format to sustain this. Anyone else see a rebranding of the league and selling the package as part of a 'Premier League' packet to foreign tv rights? They could literally have 'Premier League' football on every single day. Barring a super league, I can see a 'Premier League 2' overtaking other leagues such as Netherlands and Portugal in terms of quality.

I can see a compromise being made for more money, 'PL 2' loses a promotion spot for additional funds. Or the play off becomes PL 1 relegation team vs PL 2 Promotion team, like in the Bundesliga.

So a playoff final for PL 2 then playoff final for PL (18th) vs PL2 playoff winner?

Would need 14 premier league clubs to approve it.
As it would involve giving more money to Premier league 2, none of the big 6 or Newcastle would vote for it so won't happen.
^^^^^^
This

Nobody is going to vote to give money away to a lesser league, if history as taught us anything the PL only give more money away if they get something back, ie EPPP, U21 teams in EFL Trophy etc

Premier League meeting:

Chair of the meeting
"Good afternoon, first on the agenda is Premier League 2.
The plan would be to turn the championship into PL2. Any questions?"

"Do we get extra revenue for this?"

"No, the current TV income would be spread out between the 44 clubs.
Anymore questions?
(Silent pause)
OK all those in favour raise your hand please?
(Silent pause)
And those against?
(Silent pause)
So the motion to develop a PL2 has been rejected by 20 votes against to none in favour.

Now we move on to the 2nd item on the agenda which is demoting Manchester City to the 4th tier of the English pyramid regardless that any hearing has taken place yet......"

Only if you discount the impact of an independent regulator. There will be much more money being pushed down the leagues if an IR happens. May actually be a way to limit that impact by coming up with a scheme like this themselves.

if it happened it would more likely be the 20 prem clubs and then 12 of the champion ship ant 2 16 team leagues with more rest time for clubs.

Sure one of the septics proposed 2 x16 team leagues before in a north/south split with playoffs and a premier cup final much like they do over the pond amd were told to fuck off

I can’t see overseas TV companies being the slightest bit interested in showing England Division 2, no matter what you call it.

I have absolutely zero evidence to back this up but I highly doubt they’ve much interest in showing the vast majority of Premier League games that don’t involve United or Liverpool.
Well maybe if there were structural changes most notably a reduction in the number of teams to 16 per division.
The lost games could be made up by playing inter divisional games 5 or 6 times a season or extra games in Europe.
I don't think it will happen but you can't rule it out.
