Anyone else think we'll finish above the rags this season?

Looking at the two squads, yes, they have the experience but their players are not top notch and their squad is antique. We, on the other hand, have some outstanding players and I expect us to finish above them this season...

LOL !!!

Sure you support the right club?

I'll stick my rather short neck out and say this is the season we'll finish above them. I just sense that whiskey nose is finally starting to look - well - a bit whiskey nosed and a bit doddery. The Kamikaze comment was bizarre even for him. I just don't believe that Scholes, Giggs et all can carry a whole season. A bit negative really to say that we'll finally overtake them because of their demise rather than our improvement - but I think this is the year. They will still be top four because the standard of the rest of the league is shyte to be honest. The 'toughest league in the world' bollocks is bollocks.
I expect increasingly bizarre slurrings from the whisky nosed one followed by retirement at the end of the season. At bit sad really on many levels.

Here we go again, until the next defeat and then it's Mancini out! There's no inbetween with you lot.

United are one right back away from the best defence in Europe. Rooney is one of the top 3 players in the World behind Messi and Ronaldo. They have 12 players in their squad who are under 21. Players who have been retained by farming them out around the leagues to gain experience then playing them when they are ready. Macheda, Cleverley, Evans, Pogba, Bebe etc.. will be around for 10-15 years or more..if they can keep them from Madrid!

Many of your players are a short term fix. Yaya Toure will be around for 2 years max or however long the next manager wants to keep him for. I honestly believe that Ireland is a better player than Milner. And on saturday you had no attacking threat from the midfield. Milner doesn't put any fear in me, he's okay, but nothing like Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes class. Ireland had the potential to be, though.

United had a few dodgy spells last season though didn't they? They had a loss of confidence around about the time they played Leeds and looked pretty poor without Rooney later on.

They have an impressive, quick passing game. Might have a problem later on though, when they lose Scholes, in breaking teams down.

Yaya will be better than the over rated Gerrard and at least as good as Lampard. In Silva we have a genuine creative midfielder. Scholes is brilliant at his best, but how many games are you going to get out of him and how many performances?

I do have a bet on with a rag mate on who will finish higher. City have the better squad (IMO) and it is a question of how quickly they will settle down and develop as a team.

I disagree,

Apart from your goalkeeper and right back, I don't think any of your players are better. Fergie would still play Rooney ahead of Tevez.

Well lets be honest, Barcelona to City is a step down. Have you ever known a player to improve his game at a lesser club with players not really in the same bracket as Messi, Xavi, iniesta.

Is Yaya suddenly going to become the Viera of 10 years ago. I doubt it. Silva reminds me of Eyal Berkovic. Dunno how he will fare, could be a smash, you just don't know. One thing with City, if you have a bad season you're out, and how many times have we seen it take a player 12 months to get used to the PL?

Every one said Tevez took a step down when he joined us, Just had the best season ever. So from the first line you runied your argument, i could list plenty more, but i feel i may as well tell my cat

Hmmm...I wasn't aware that Tevez had his best season ever? I'm sure I remember him dancing around Moscow with the European cup, a week after lifting the Premiership trophy! I don't think he would consider 5th spot his best season ever.

Yes,

Come on be positive.

Yeah but no but yeah but no.........

And why not be positive. I am.

We have assembled probably the strongest squad in England, and they are all excellent footballers, so let's just imagine they click and get their act together, especially after December.

Let's imagine it, City not losing after Christmas, and winning almost every game.

With the players we have, it's entirely possible.

None of us know if it's going to happen, but suppose it does?

It's going to be an interesting season, and we may just surprise a few people.

Does your mother shit on the floor whenever you walk into your house?

Yes, then she pays your mum 50p an hour to clean it up. She's great with the shit mop, old Mrs Doherty. Still saving up for some teeth.
