Anyone ever go to 5th Avenue in the city centre?

I've not been for a year or so. I used to love it but it got predictable cos it was the same every week. I prefer 42s these days, the music isn't as main stream. You don't get anything other than the obvious in 5th (i.e. Kaiser Chiefs, Fratellis, Arctic Monkeys, Kooks), 42s plays new bands as well

FFS. what a twattish thing to market your night out as. I wouldn't go to something like that on principle cos it'll be full of stuck up pricks who use fake tan, wear ear rings and rosary beads and generally take longer to get ready than girls do.

Christ, 5th Ave!! I've not been there, or 42nd Street, for years, must be getting on for a decade now! Do they still finish the night with Birdhouse in your Soul by They Might Be Giants?!!!

same here mate, good few years since I been 42's , The Venue , the boardwalk,hac as well .... it was all oasis in them days and a few nobheads would always be sort of stamping on the spot,with their hands clasped behind their back Liam style! happy days!

I used togo years ago, was quality, but everytime ive tried togo in last few years you had tobe a student so I dont bother now.

Not been to 5th Ave for years...I started going when I was 17, and now I'm 22...even in that space of time, it's become a completely different place to what I remember, it's full of cocky scenester shitty kids now who think they own the place cos they saw the Klaxons at Leeds last year and they've snapped a glowstick all over their face.

42's is better, but even the music in there has been questionable recently....Dizzee Rascal wasplayed in there on a Saturday night a few weeks ago...we promptly left & headed for Bar Below.

Out of any indie club in town, South would be my preferred choice, it's an older crowd so you don't get kids thinking they're Liam or trying to start fights & that.
