Just watched a programme on BBC4 regarding sprinters,. Discussed it with mt brother-inlaw who has injected for years and he still doesnt see a problem with it.

Should we be striving to see how good we can be (if so, surely that includes steroids)

Just looking for opinions.

I got into body building big time a few years ago to a level where I considered entering competitions such as Mr.Atlas and obviously I took to steroids to boost my muscle mass. I had to stop though because the downside was that my penis shrunk to 9" so I stopped.

I watched the same programme.
Did you see how Ben Johnson went from skinny sprinter to Charles Atlas in no time.

Nope. They belong to the insecure.

This.

Worked out for years, I'm skinny, so what?
I don't need muscle mass to make myself feel better.

I work out to maintain fitness, many gear heads I know are good looking junkies and thats it... Smackheads with Makeup.
Their muscle mass may help them bench 5x what I could ever lift but this doesn't mean they are healthier than me.

a shitty car that's been left on the scrap heap with new bodywork... same engine that's gonna stop soon.

Steroids have a bad rep because they are used/abused by idiots who want an instant fix while subsequently having a complete ignorance as to the negative consequences they can carry.

In the correct enviroment and in knowledgeable hands they allow an individual to go beyond what is naturally achievable,it's nothing to do with insecurity for the majority, its about being the best you possibly can be.

Respect choices.

-- 17 Jul 2012 23:38 --

It has much to do with insecurity for the majority. That is why many young men and teenagers take them. The "correct environment" and "knowledgable hands" does not even enter the heads of many who use them, or the pushers looking to make a fast buck.

Also, why strive to go beyond what is naturally acheivable and by definition strive to be unnatural ?

Like I said "insecure".
To go beyond what is naturally achievable? What next, a sex change?
