i heard something on the grapevine but didn't wanna post and get slated as bogus itk...anyway saw this thread so here goes...

heard this morn from v reliable source re private jet (same person who told me about robinho and cook flying out to meet kaka) that the jet picked mancini up yesterday - however i believe his kid plays over here? so not sure it its that, but jet never been used for mancini before - that's it, slate away....

Guess my itk is genuine then

NO NO NO NO NO to Mancini...he might've been a gifted player but so was Hughes!! Getting rid of MH after spending £200million & not giving the new team time, just makes us a massive joke! I used to be a proud supporter of City when we had no money & if the manager is replaced before the end of the season then I'll be embarrassed to admit that I support them, cos this new owner & his puppet chairman need to f"ck off with their cash & give us back our old club, the one that had bare bones spirit...If Hughes goes (correct me if I'm wrong) that means we've had 14 managers in 20 years & look where that policy has got us...NOWHERE! In the same period of time Manure have had Baconface, who didn't do anything for the first 4 years & the last time we won a cup it was with a management team that had been in place for years!!

Aaaawwwwww I was hoping for...

Mancini until the end of the season and then the Special One at the end of the season?

Im a 'Hughes Outer'. However I do have a reservations about this Mancini, yeah he won Seria A but the competion was either relegated or had points deduction. Would he have won it anyway? We'll never know.

Then again I suppose we have tried the 'proven Prem League' players and it hasn't gone well(I think we can all agree) so why not.

Mancini In!!

Well 'till the end of the season and evaluate his progress

I like the irony of people going on about no experience in this league. No English manager has ever won the Premier League.

The 'Special Needs One' never sticks at anything, he just 'slimes in' picks up a trophy & f*cks off!! How the hell is that going to bring any stability to the team?? Look how he f*cked up Chelski by doing just that & look how he's f*cking up Inter by doing the same thing now!! The only manager that I think is progress from Hughes would be Hiddink & he won't come to City!! Any manager worth his salt will find the pressure too great at City & will defo be too afraid to spent money cos everyone brings the money into the equation when they lose! I'd give MH til the end of the season...

Something worth remembering: Mancini may have won the Scudetto three years in succession, but two of those titles were default wins, awarded after the teams above Inter had been found guilty of cheating.

Juventus and AC Milan did not deserve to win anything from those seasons, but that does not mean Mancini's team actually won matches that history records they didn't. To judge his ability as a coach (which is probably excellent, all the same) by calling him a "three-times Scudetto winner" is a little misleading.

Yes Juve were relegated and Milan docked points.

However Inter had not won a league for donkeys years.

And hand on heart do you think Hughes would have achieved something similar.

And those who go on about his failures in Europe. Let's see last year Inter failed with Mou and unless they beat Chelsea they are going out in last 16, this year. The reality is the Italian teams are not as good as the Spanish/English.

So for me while he may not be the best manager in world football he is an upgrade on MH.

I remember Mancini being good mates with Vialli and playing together at Sampdoria, wouldn't mind seeing Vialli coaching back in the premier league althouh I've no idea where he's been for the last three years...

I was also told about Kidd and not sure about him. Its been a long long time since he built his rep. As for Mancini, you can count successful foreign managers on one hand, failures by the hundreds...fingers crossed

I am, I look forward to that continental style of play. I also think everybody else will once he is in and winning a few games. Amazed at the posts on here by people totally contradicting themselves and slagging off our manager before he has even sat down in his office.

we should have waited and got someone better, I'm not sure if it will last, who knows, sad day really

Well considering now it looks like Hughes could be out the door and Hiddink wont be coming, what does everyone think of the Idea of getting Mancini in ?.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/manchester_city/s/1186666_city_have_no_hiddink_plans" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... dink_plans</a>

He's 45 (A young manager everyone wants),
He's won four Coppa Italia (Equivilent to 4 FA cups at 3 different teams),
He's won 3 League titles aswell,
He's champions league experience,
He is supposedly improving his English as he wants to come to England.

Now i don't know about you but I'd be happy to get someone like that to come to city and give them time as he has a pedigree of being a winner. I know the Italian league isn't what it used to be but its still a dam good league.

Roberto Macini
Is the M.E.N taking the piss or what.
