Something people need to bear in mind is that to Mansour, City are just a tiny, tiny part of his business empire. We're one of hundreds of companies he owns. If people think he sits around worrying about which players Manchester City are going to sign, then i suspect they'll be very wrong. He has shares in banks, huge multinational companies, vast amounts of property in that London, i'd be surprised if City accounted to more than 0.1% of his overall business portfolio. That's not to say he doesn't want the best for us, just that it's unlikely to be him that makes the decisions about the football side of the operation. This is why Khaldoon's here, he's the link, but admittedly not a football man. Hughes and his team will make ALL of the football decisions, Cook runs the business side of things, and they both report to Mubarak who in turn reports to the big man.

I highly doubt Mansour & Khaldoon sit around talking fantasy football. If Hughes wants Eto'o, Ribery and Tevez he'll tell Cook and Khaldoon, and if they think it's feasible then Cook will make moves for them. If Hughes wants, say, Lescott, Parker & Santa Cruz then we'll go for those. Our owners are already proving a great asset to the club, and by the sounds of it they're here long-term, but they won't be buying players over the managers head, they won't be making mangerial changes unless their advisors think it absolutely necessary, and they won't be sat around 24/7 discussing the merits of us signing Thierry Henry, or Micah Richards poor form. We're a very small part of their business, and with that i think we try and remain moderately realistic.

Also, the owners appear very keen to come across well, both to the fans and the media, and not to quickly gather a reputation, as other foreign owners have, of being sack-happy, throwing their weight around, dabbling behind the scenes. I think they want to win friends in the game, and this is why i think they'll give Hughes at least another season to prove himself.

In financial terms City may be but a small part of his empire but in terms of publicity and the prestige of potentially winning some of the world's major sporting competitions they could be very significant indeed. How many of Roman's businesses can you name without using Google?

Now that's where YOU'RE wrong my friend. One of my best sources (a very well known agent) tells me that the Sheikh likes nothing more than an evening playing on CM2009 and insists Khalsoon joins in when they are together. They can play for hours discussing who they are going to buy. In fact, the reason Elano has got a run is because Sheikh Mansour tried it in a game against Barcelona and we won 6-1 (he was City of course) so it was suggested to Hughes that SWP suffer a "diplomatic" injury to allow Elano a place.

However, he doesn't always get it right. My source got an excited phone call from Mansour telling him that he HAD to get that lad Samaras from Celtic as he was banging them in for fun on CM2009. It had to be gently pointed out to him that we'd been there before and it wasn't such a good idea.

fact, do you really think sheik mansor would get excited over his shares in a bank, cheering when his shares go even (when he has billions) or would like a project, like city, where he can build a great team and be heavily involved in sport.

we know hes a keen sports man, as he owns a team in abu dahbi, owns shares in Ferrari, and ive seen a pic of him on horse back, probably playing polo. but at the end of the day he owns a part of ferrari but its not much of an interactive sport for him, the way i see it is our owner is a passionate sports fan, who decided he wanted to buy a football club, bring in the best players and spend a few bob.....sport is, and always will be a game of pleasure, i highly doubt he will make much money out of us, probably just raise the profile of abu dhabi (id expect to see more of him the more succesful we get) and have fun while doing it

Are you allowed to start with 'fact'.......then ask a question???

I hope our new owner at some point manages to sneak in to Manchester to see a game or two for himself. If he took my route to a game (train, walk to pubs etc) he wouldn't get noticed.
