Anyone know the legalities re Parking Fines

Our Store is in Ashton Town centre and we have a loading bay used constantly by 3 vans throughout the day, people use this as free car park to "nip to the Bank " stopping us from doing our job , we've just got a Parking firm in and they have put warning signs up saying Permit Holders Only with a fine of a £100.

Hopefully this will deter the selfish wankers who are too tight to pay for parking elsewhere.

Just won my appeal against Thameside parking. The checky sods
Removed yellow lines and put up a sign saying new restrictions now in place.
So I through wrongly any one could park.but turned out to be permit holders only.

So took photos of removed lines and won my appeal on misleading signage.
Could have paid within 30 days and paid the reduced fine of £40 but was so
Pissed off with it that I had to wait for inforcment letter to arrive which by then
It was £75 .
So if you feel you have a case fight the buggers I say.
They rely on drivers just paying up and not contesting it.

I've heard that if you get a parking ticket, just send it back to where it came from with a note simply saying "Please send to driver"

Its then up to them to obtain evidence and prove who was driving the car and 90% of the time they either can't or it's not worth their while so you'll never hear off them again

that's exactly what this whole thing has been about.

Your store, through its parking company, has no authority to fine anybody.

Only councils and plod can do that.

You can only invoice for lost revenue and not charge an arbitrary, punitive £100.

The Parking firm turned up yesterday afternoon and put tickets on a couple of cars, he had a row with the owner of the cars and told him he needs a permit to park, the parking firm is acting on behalf of the Landlord who owns the ground, I don't know the legalities over this but can only hope this stops them from parking .
