This game was crying out for Elano to break down the defence with a little more regularity than the Emerald Prince managed today. I was expecting him to be on at halftime. Did notice that the first time he came out for a warm up he was indicating to the crowd that he knew where and what the badge was. Hope he is now re-settled and that Hughes plays him a little more. It's ok having Zab and Nige in the middle but it requires Stevie I to be a little more on the game than he appeared to be today.

I kept saying the same to my lad, with all the possession we had in and around the box he would of been ideal, but hay hoe we won so i can live with it.
 
Ireland got a bit of a knock in the second half. It looked like he was gonna come off so Hughes obviously told Elano he was coming on. But, Ireland was given a drink and what I think was a paracetamol and carried on fine enough.

Can't argue with Hughes not changing it so much when it was that tight.
 
Can't help but feel we are being very short sighted playing a tired Ireland when we have Elano who is arguably a better player ready to come on. He also seems to bring the best out of Robinho.
 
i think hughes wants to keep elano hungary to play. Important games coming and hughes is the boss. wants hungary players bursting to get on.. Thats management for you, making players hungary for a go then unleash them.. we watch games and play FM games, that doesn't give us the right experience to judge how to get the best from players. MH knew Jo wasn't playing for him so gets him to move on loan to Everton and look how he reponded, Elano played shit all season when Ireland didn't . He now looks more interested in wanting to be a part of the team again , he must wait til hughes gives him the green light. Its his own fault for playing shit first half of season.

I for 1 am going to be loving it when he comes back as i am a big fan. He will come in steaming for a goal.

Completely agree with you on the Richards at RB quote...

Against a team like Boro at home we could do with just one DM in De Jong, then stick Zab at RB and play Elano in the middle to give us some more creativity.

I agree with those and hope he comes back full throttle! He looks hungry and there are several people have not been playing as affect as he has when he's been subbed onto the pitch. Richards out, Zab to RB and Elano in!

i know and its very annoying that so many are trying to find faults under every rock... its incredible that so many city fans are stuck in half empty glasses
