Anyone Notice Elano Today....

Against a team like Boro at home we could do with just one DM in De Jong, then stick Zab at RB and play Elano in the middle to give us some more creativity.
I think playing two DMs is helping De Jong get fitter without too much reliance on him to do everything until he does. Plus, we are harder to beat when we have two playing that role. If the score would have been 0-0 with 20 mins to go then he probably would have changed it and brought Elano on like he did at Stoke. Once DeJong is fully fit he might use one DM for games like this, but lets walk before we can run.

how some people say elano is better than ireland is beyond me

Overall I'd say both are near equals but Elano pulls it in for me. Ireland has definately outshined him in performance this season no doubt but both are clever, tricky, quick and can score goals. Elano just needs to get the hunger back which he has and get some game time. I did enjoy the win but I would have loved to see him come on of course because he is my favourite! :)

Still surely you would agree Richards has not been playing anywhere near his best?

Richards has been shite this season, the lad really needs to sort his head out.

Maybe he should meet up with Ish Miller again so that they can 'romance' a lady, seemed to be more up for it then.

Quite agree. It will take De Jong a few games to get up to speed but meanwhile he's giving us more stability at the back

Was interesting to see what MH said after the game about Given and Hart. He said that its tough on Joe that Given was brought in but he had to do what was right for the club. He also said that it's a bit different for outfield players as they stand more of a chance to play. Hope Elano was listening. If its part of MH's plan to change the system for different matches, Elano will play, I just hope he doesnt throw the head up too much.

Perhaps we could exchange money and I could give your near equal for every £ you give me - given your definiton that should work out at about 10 p in the £ (-:

we won

and hughes still gets slagged

if hughes had brought elano on and we fooked up, yous would be getting at him for bringing on an attacking mid for a def mid when we are 1 nil up.

Elano was coming on until Boro made their more attacking subs an Hughes changed his mind.

it was when City were considering taking Ireland off when he was feeling sick, Ireland came over to technical area and had a tablet - Hughes gave him a few mins to see if he was o.k. - he was and Elano went back to bench.

Thanks for clearing that up, even so ireland was awful still for the last 25 minutes, didn't have a good game at all, i really don't know what hughes was thinking, elano should of come on anyway as stevie clearly looked tired and we was on the back foot a little

I heard, from someone very close to the 1st team squad, that Ireland had the "shits" before the Newcastle game...

Looks like whatever caused that hasn't cleared up yet!

Interesting that they're playing him through it...?
