Anyone worried about the potential "Qualifier"

I thought that UEFA had scrapped seeding to give the smaller leagues a chance of getting teams through?

Not exactly, what they did was to split the qualifying rounds into "Champions" and "Non-champions" sections so that more actual champions made it into the group stages rather than going out to strong non-champion sides in the later qualifiers.
Seeding still applies within each section.

about the play offs being seeded !!!

Have a look here - shows this years qualifying - teams were seeded in QR4 based on their coefficients - we'd have been unseeded.

The only reason I asked was I was looking for the possibility of us getting through our qualifier into the mini league,and the scum not getting through their qualifier and getting fuck all.But you probably guessed thats the reason I was asking.

Speaking of Fenerbache, I read somewhere the other day that they had to do the draw twice because of political disbutes etc. Anyone know who we got in the original draw?

Assuming we secure 4th spot in a few weeks, I think we have to overcome a CL qualifier over 2 legs (usually held in August) to secure our place in the competition.

Just not read much on the forum about the need to overcome this potential future obstacle is anyone concerned about this?

I know usually the sides you could meet are from a far inferior league to the Prem & you don't hear many instances of shocks but Everton lost to Villareal a few years ago so surely we must be concerned at this bannana skin!. This is City after all, even though I think were shaking off our typical City tag slowly but surely.

I've been saying to people that yes if we finished 4th were there but really it is finish 4th + win the qualifier isn't it?.

its a good question, like marco said though we'll have quality players in the squad by then, i think we'll be shopping now in readiness for finishing 4th, then as the window opens we'll sign them up and use the summer to gel ready for what is going to be an incredible season ahead.

We did terrify Europe when we eventually played there. Fenerbahce's ground is technically on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. ;-)

I've mentioned it a few times, because some seem to think 4th=champions league, but it just means a qualifying round, and while there will be some fairly average teams, there will also be some good teams, and we should all know far too well how City perform in cups against average (or worse) teams.
