Apology to the club

The posters who say they are disappointed that the club didn't offer any support for the OP really don't get it. The club will be delighted at the outcome as this type of incident could end up escalating badly and with potentially major consequences.

What if a Villa player(s) confronted the OP on the pitch and it ended up with punches being thrown? Potentially the game could have been halted or even abandoned. The last thing the club wants is fans on the pitch at any time but particularly when the match is in progress. I wouldn't be surprised if the club weigh in with an extended club ban in addition to the court imposed football banning order.

The OP is remorseful but that doesn't change anything from a club perspective as he had no idea what his actions might have led to. The combination of a pissed up supporter and pumped up opposition players can be very toxic.

I know the OP is remorseful and it was a 'moment of madness' but if that had been a Villa fan everyone on here would be screaming for them to throw the book at him so we shouldn't have double standards. You're not supposed to do it but he did and he got done for it.

No, we wouldn't!

Football fans are criminalised enough as it is.

Given the emotion of the moment, no previous offences and literally 0 impacts on the game/players/fans (no victims of this crime), it's an absolutely shambolic verdict.

I feel incredibly sorry for the OP. They've made an example of him.

I went on the pitch ten minutes later myself!

The lesson for everyone reading this post is ALWAYS USE LEGAL REPRESENTATION!!

Whilst I feel sorry for the OP, in that 10 minutes later there were 100s on the pitch, I think there are actually 2 lessons.

Legal representation and just don’t do it!

The club make/made enough announcements. Yes I understand the euphoria but there are many barriers to surely make you think twice?
Sorry OP and I hope you take the advice offered and appeal using a solicitor. I do feel you were made an example of but after the events of the previous week around the country I guess it was inevitable. Good luck.

Fuckin Scandalous

Was only reading the other day about a guy in Preston Three times over the Drink Drive limit crashed his car with Children inside, Fined just over £300. Are you're stung for 8 Ton. An absolute fuckin pisstake.

He did go in front of the villa fans as shown on YouTube by fans in the villa end making a gesture but nothing to inciting, and he did slip running back across the penalty area as stated. Any interaction/ gesture to the 'keeper was not shown on this vids but they will have it on CCTV. The prosecution will exaggerate it, but that is their job, and the defence's to counter it and offer mitigation.

There is nothing to appeal at this time, better to forget about it for two years and then look at the reduced banning order if it is worth it.

You could delay matches with flames, attack team buses and not get any bans but ofcourse this does. Weird.
Can't agree with that. Merseyside police are still investigating the bus attack and I have every faith that those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.
It's only been 4 years and 3 months.... give them a little more time

And the spitting incident involving our coaching staff. They even identified the suspects and still found them to have done nothing wrong.
