What happened to the two pitch invaders that came on during the Real Madrid game? In the case of the child, was there any punishment for the father who sent him on?

If they were more leniently dealt with there's a precedent for an appeal. In my opinion those pitch invasions were much worse because they stopped the game whereas Paul's invasion was only during a celebration.

What about the very easily identifiable wankers who vandalised the goalposts?
Kids and adults.... The club should be banning them all for at least 5 years and making them pay for the repairs/replacement.

I’ve no idea but it will depend on their previous convictions and also any aggravating or mitigating factors

A four year ban does seem excessive perhaps a lawyer could have reduced that

I'd usually inclined to agree. However I suspect that in this case the ban would be exactly the same, and any 'reduction' in the amount of the fine would be counteracted by the solicitor's fees.

He probably saved himself a couple of hundred quid by representing himself.

could have used a duty solicitor on the day so at least it would have had some legal rep

@meldrew not having a pop mate as you'll know by my posts here, but as you've realised now, going to court without representation, owning up and doing the right thing has got you absolutely nowhere. All that happened was a prosecution solicitor painted you as the worst invader since Genghis Khan and you got hammered.

Now follow advice, contact the FSA and get appealing.
